We’re one week in to MAFS UK 2025, so here are the couples who are already doomed
It might not be who you think
If you thought this year would be full of heartwarming love stories, think again. One week in, and there are already plenty of MAFS UK doomed couples, who are already on a collision course with disaster. It’s safe to say that “for better or worse” is leaning very heavily on the “worse” side for a few of them.
Joe & Maeve

Newlyweds Joe and Maeve kicked off married life with a classic honeymoon meltdown. Things got off to a rocky start after the two struggled to connect, culminating in Maeve sitting at the bar and telling Joe bluntly: “You’re really p*****g me off”. When he asked why… she stormed off, naturally.
Joe, who apparently swapped his partying days for existential dread, admitted in a confessional that Maeve’s “lively” personality was giving him major pause. Honestly, watching him wrestle with someone who’s actually enthusiastic about life is both sad and slightly hilarious. If this is just week one, we’re not even going to make it to week two without a fight.
Leigh & Leah

Leigh and Leah are already giving huge “why did I do this?” energy. No, seriously, Leigh actually confessed “I think I’ve made a mistake”. Things got off to a frosty start when Leigh admitted she wasn’t even sure she fancied Leah, and apparently Leah’s supposed to have a “masculine side” (whatever that means in 2025) to meet Leigh’s checklist.

Wedding day awkwardness reached a new peak when Leigh refused to kiss Leah during the official photoshoot, repeatedly declining the photographer’s attempts to orchestrate a smooch. Cue the classic honeymoon blow-up, with tears shed.
Honestly, watching this pair squirm through basic wedding protocol is like witnessing a slow-motion car crash, but somehow… you can’t look away.
Sarah & Dean

Sarah is not feeling Dean. At all. She described him as “over the top” and admitted she has zero desire to “rip his clothes off”. Ouch. Dean’s attempts at serenades and raps are apparently grating on her nerves, leaving him heartbroken and asking himself existential questions about life, love, and possibly karaoke etiquette.
Sarah’s friend Caitlin dropped the brutal truth bomb: “Looks are very important to Sarah, and he is definitely not her type.” So, Dean, we’re just going to say it: This isn’t going to end well.
Julia-Ruth & Divarni

Julia-Ruth and Divarni’s honeymoon has been… let’s call it an emotional obstacle course. They appeared to clash early on over their different approaches, with Divarni being more serious and Julia-Ruth appearing more carefree.
And on the honeymoon, Divarni’s heartfelt attempt at intimacy got shut down when Julia-Ruth basically said: “Nope, we’re sleeping separately tonight.” Divarni, clearly devastated, was seen in tears, while Julia-Ruth insisted this was just about “starting afresh tomorrow”. To be honest, they just seem like completely different people.
Nelly & Steven

Ok, so, no immediate red flags from Nelly and Steven. BUT, and it’s a big but, it seems like trouble could already be brewing. Steven’s ex has taken to TikTok to claim at he “abandoned her” to go on the show. It doesn’t sound good.
She says Steven did not tell her that he had signed up for the E4 experiment, despite him dating her for months. The video showed Melissa looking less than impressed along with a caption that read: “The same person who can buy you 100 roses and date you for months, can also lie to you and disappear to get married on national TV,” with a crying emoji. So, tbh, I don’t see this one working out.
One week in, and it’s clear: Some there are plenty of MAFS UK doomed couples already.
