No! Celebrity Traitors editing moment has people convinced about who is getting banished

Dear Claudia Winkleman, please intervene

We are quickly approaching the first banishment on The Celebrity Traitors season two, with the likes of Richard E. Grant and Ross Kemp on the chopping block, but people on Twitter are convinced this editing error spoils the roundtable.

We are only two episodes into The Celebrity Traitors season two, but that doesn’t mean there hasn’t been chaos unfolding before our eyes. For one, Richard E. Grant admitted that he’s a Traitor MINUTES after finding out, and then there’s Ross Kemp’s rampant paranoia convincing him everyone’s out to get him. For a man that’s braved jungles, cartels, and criminals, he’s not that cool under pressure.

Those moments saw both of the men with the spotlight on them at the start of the roundtable, though other names like Bella Ramsey, Hannah Fry, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock also came up. Julie Hesmondhalgh’s name was evoked by James Blunt, but we were all as confused as the rest of the cast members.

Spoilers from here: You have been warned

This Celebrity Traitor cast member is getting banished, according to viewers

According to longtime viewers of The Traitors, the editors over at the BBC like to increase the tension by finishing an episode mid-voting when it’s between two people. But that didn’t happen on Friday; in fact, the episode finished before voting even commenced.

This has left some people with the belief that everyone at the table – bar the Traitors – votes for a single person. I think we all know who that is.

“No Voting Cliffhanger which means EVERYONE voted for Richard E Grant. He will OFFICIALLY go down as the WORST Traitor of all time,” one person wrote.

Another said: “I’m predicting a landslide vote sees Richard banished, hence why we didn’t get into the voting.”

In the comments, most people seem in agreement, with one even suggesting that “he’ll probably vote himself for being so foolish!”

“Yeah. It was around 5 people piling on him already and with the inevitable silent bandwagon votes you’ll be close to 10. The other vote is split with several people having minor suspicions on them. I don’t see any path for Richard surviving,” someone else added.

But here’s the thing: It could backfire on the Faithfuls in The Celebrity Traitors. Maya and James could be given the opportunity to recruit someone else to their cause, and then the first banishment was essentially pointless.

Moreover, if you’re convinced that someone is a traitor, which would be correct in this case, why vote them out immediately? You could watch his interactions with other celebs, better manage the unpredictability of your fellow Faithfuls moving forward, and save the banishment for a rainy day when you’re at risk of going home.

Despite all that, the theory might be complete rubbish. Only time will tell.
