Gypsy Rose Blanchard says last phone call with partner Ken Urker was about family dispute

‘He was deeply distressed by the situation’

Gypsy Rose Blanchard has revealed the final phone call she shared with her partner Ken Urker was discussing messy family drama. Last week, she confirmed the news her partner and former fiancé had been found dead aged 34. He was found unresponsive, on his birthday.

Following the news, Gypsy Rose gave multiple statements to different news outlets, in which she spoke about Urker, and how much of a great dad he was to their daughter Aurora Raina Urker, who was born in December 2024.

Ken’s sister then claimed in a TikTok video that he and Gypsy Rose had recently broken up. His sister, Autumn, claimed “they’ve been split up,” before she accused Gypsy Rose of leaking the news. Autumn Urker also confirmed that Ken had passed away, sharing that his last words to her were, “I love you.”

Gypsy Rose has since responded to these claims, and said her final phone call with Ken Urker was discussing this. She said it’s “no secret” that Autumn didn’t like her being with Ken.

“At this time, I do not want the focus surrounding Ken’s passing to become centered on negativity or disagreements between Autumn and me,” Gypsy Rose told Us Weekly. “It is no secret that Autumn did not approve of Ken’s relationship with me, and there has been significant tension between us, including public comments she made about me in the months leading up to his passing.

“Right now, my priority is grieving Ken, supporting our daughter and honouring his memory. I remain in communication with Ken’s family, and aside from my relationship with Autumn, those communications have been positive and respectful during an incredibly painful time.”

She added: “During my final phone conversation with Ken on Monday, September 28, he told me that he was deeply distressed by the situation [with Autumn]. He said that Autumn had repeatedly threatened to ‘go harder’ publicly and further contribute to the negative commentary and scrutiny he was already experiencing. Those were Ken’s statements to me, and I can only speak to what he personally communicated.”

Gypsy Rose has previously detailed how Ken had been subject to an “unimaginable level of public scrutiny” and “relentless cyberbullying” on social media, and added the “cruelty directed toward him was something no human being should have to endure.”

In her newest statement, she added: “I would much rather use my voice to focus on that work and on preserving Ken’s legacy than continue a public family dispute. I sincerely hope everyone can allow Ken to be remembered for the person and father he was rather than allowing disagreements among those who loved him to overshadow his life.”
