A legal expert explains exactly why no arrest has been made after Celeste Rivas was found
Her body was found in singer D4vd’s car – but he’s still not been named a suspect
The singer D4vd has been silent since the body of 15 year old Celeste Rivas was found in a Tesla registered to him. Whilst the official statement from his team was that he was cooperating with police and he continued his tour dates, once the body was identified it’s been radio silent and he has now cancelled that tour. A property in the Hollywood Hills near to where Rivas was found has been searched and a computer seized, and various things have surfaced such as alleged matching finger tattoos with Celeste and an old leaked song that names her in the lyrics. But no arrest has been made and D4vd has not been named a suspect. Now a legal expert has explained why D4vd or anyone else has not been named as a suspect or any arrest made in the investigation into Celeste Rivas’ death.
There’s one simple reason as to why
ABC News contributor and legal expert Brian Buckmire joined Good Morning America this week to explain the delay in any arrest or formal identification of Celeste Rivas’ death as a homicide investigation.
“A lot of people are going to be asking the very obvious question of ‘Why hasn’t D4vd been brought in at least for questioning?’” he said during an appearance on GMA last week.
The answer is quite simple: law enforcement does not yet have the information that guarantees enough evidence to make an arrest or name a suspect yet. And there needs to be specific details released by the autopsy report before that happens.

“Law enforcement does not have the answers they want in order to be able to confront or question D4vd,” Buckmire said. “Especially without an autopsy report as to the cause and manner of death.”
Whilst no arrest has yet been made for the reasons said by the legal expert, D4vd has faced some consequences surrounding the death of Celeste Rivas. He has had to cancel his tour, artists like Kali Uchis are working to remove their song together from streaming and a deluxe version of his album which was set to release last Friday has been indefinitely delayed.
