Celebrities ‘unfollow’ BTS after their support for Chris Brown, including collaborator

This is so messy

Celebrities are unfollowing BTS after band members RM and J-Hope attended a Chris Brown concert and posed for pictures with the controversial singer.

Musicians Chris Brown and Usher are currently on a joint tour with 33 shows across the US and Canada. BTS members RM and J-Hope were spotted at Chris Brown’s second Toronto show last Wednesday.  J-Hope then shared videos of him and RM at the show, and the pair posed for pictures with Chris Brown backstage.

Immediately, BTS supporters called out the band members, as Chris Brown is an extremely controversial figure. The 37-year-old has two criminal convictions for violent crimes, including his assault on Rihanna and an attack at a London nightclub in 2023.

But it looks like it’s not just their fans calling them out. At least two celebrities have seemingly unfollowed BTS after they appeared to support Chris Brown. One is the proud Brown hater Zara Larsson, who has publicly criticised the musician multiple times.

“There are so many artists I have blocked on Spotify,” she said in a video interview with Cosmopolitan. “You certainly wouldn’t find a Chris Brown song. Bye!”

She also tweeted “Chris Brown is TRAAASSHHHHH” back in 2016, and recently held up a shirt someone had made for her at concept with the tweet printed on it.

Now, she’s unfollowed J-Hope and RM on Instagram.

One Zara supporter replied to a tweet about the situation, saying: “She has always consistently been outspoken in her condemnation of Chris brown and anyone who supports him, so this isn’t performative or anything. Zara is a genuinely great person and someone I’m proud to support since day one.”

Also unfollowing the band is Megan Thee Stallion, who they have collaborated with multiple times. Unlike Zara, Megan hasn’t publicly made any scathing statements about Chris Brown, but right after J-Hope and RM were pictured at his show, she unfollowed the band on Instagram. This might be the end of the Megan and BTS collabs!
