Here’s what ‘getting sendy’ actually means on TikTok, because it’s everywhere right now
I can’t escape it
Your TikTok has probably been full of videos of people “getting sendy” or telling others “let’s get sendy”. this week – but what the hell does it mean?
It’s the latest stupid meme to take over TikTok in September, following the viral 67 and 41 trends. If you’re confused, here’s a full explanation.
Right, what does ‘getting sendy’ actually mean on TikTok?
The phrase “getting sendy” is another one of those silly memes that doesn’t really mean anything at all, but all the kids are saying it.
It all started from this viral video where a guy with a heart filter on his head randomly says, “There’s no commandment that says ‘Thou shall not send’ though, right?” His friend then shouts: “Ohhhh let’s get sendy.”

Now, sendy isn’t actually a new slang term at all. It’s been around for years and is a shortened version of “send it”. The slang term means to “go all out” or “go for it” by pushing your limits, and it’s commonly used in extreme sports like climbing and skiing.
However, the sound has now gone viral as part of a new trend where people are talking about “getting sendy” with different foods like wings and boba. For example, one says, “Accidentally caught myself getting sendy with a burger” and another adds: “Getting sendy with Starbucks cold foam.”

The videos are set to LOSTBOYJAY’S house music track COULD BE WRONG and involve a strange movement where the person quickly flicks their head to the side to show they are shotgunning the food. They get embarrassed when they realise they are being filmed, and ask to switch the camera off.

It’s a pretty pointless trend that doesn’t really mean much at all, but “getting sendy” has become one of those weird phrases that kids say over and over again because they think it’s funny. Yes, this is what TikTok has come to these days.
