Breaking: Man taken to hospital after stabbing at Brunel University of London

His injuries are not considered life threatening


A man has been taken to hospital after a stabbing at Brunel University of London.

The unnamed man was stabbed yesterday (21st May) outside of a student accommodation on campus, with emergency services being called at around 6pm.

It has been confirmed that the man was left with multiple injuries, and was taken to hospital by road after paramedics arrived at the scene. Metropolitan Police confirmed the injuries are not life threatening and that the incident is isolated.

Officers are urging witnesses to come forward if they know anything about the attack. A spokesperson also added that no one has been arrested as of yet.

In a post by Brunel last night, the university said: “We are aware of an incident on campus this evening. Our on-site Security Team and staff are working closely with the police as they investigate the situation. For reassurance, our Security Team will increase patrols throughout the night.”

A spokesperson said the university will continue to update students and the public when it is able to.

The Metropolitan Police told The Tab: “We were called at 17:45hrs to Kingston Lane, Cowley on Wednesday, 21 May following reports of a stabbing.

“Met officers and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene and treated a man for stab injuries before taking him to hospital. His injuries are non-life threatening.

“At this early stage, no arrests have been made and an investigation has been launched.

“Officers believe that this was an isolated incident, and there is no further threat to the wider community.

“Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 stating CAD7269/21MAY or call Crimestoppers on 0800 111 555 to remain anonymous.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 5.49pm yesterday (21st May) to reports of a stabbing in Topping Lane, Uxbridge.

“We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene.

“We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated a patient for several wounds and took him by road to a major trauma centre.”
