Body language expert breaks down how ‘fake’ MAFS couple Jacqui and Clint are playing us

‘It is a struggle to find a single photo where they appear at ease with each other’

A body language expert has analysed Jacqui Burfoot and Clint Rice’s relationship after leaving MAFS, and let’s just say it’s not looking particularly good. Clint and Jacqui got together after their marriages on the show failed, revealing the somewhat jarring news to the world during the final episodes of MAFS Australia season 12. Soon after, a body language expert trashed their engagement video, and even their fellow MAFS family weren’t buying into what they were selling.

But it’s been a few weeks since the announcement, and Jacqui and Clint have not let us rest with update after update and more Instagram pictures than I’ve posted in my entire life. But now, body language expert Inbaal Hongiman has seemingly suggested they are overcompensating, exclusively telling The Tab: “The couple’s awkwardness around each other is notable. It is a struggle to find a single photo where they appear at ease with each other.”

Here’s what she had to say about Jacqui and Clint’s body language after MAFS Australia.

MAFS’ Jacqui and Clint picked this photo for a reason

Analysing a carousel of images Jacqui uploaded about her post-MAFS life, Casino.org’s body language expert Inbaal Hongiman pointed out how they must have picked that specific picture because they felt it was “nicest coupliest” pic. But, it’s “not as intimate as they think it is.”

“The cover pic, with the pair dancing in front of their home bar and smiling at the camera, shows a wholly mismatched pairing. Jacqui’s front is pressed against Clint’s chest, which could represent an intimate connection, but her right shoulder is raised. A raised shoulder in a romantic situation can signify attraction, but when it is combined with Jacqui’s palm against Clint’s front, it is almost as if she’s pushing him away,” Inbaal told The Tab.

“This nonverbal cue is already uncomfortable, then observe this along with their legs and feet which are pointing in totally different directions, letting us know that they have different goals in life.”

Clint’s dog in this picture was a form of protection

In the second picture of the carousel, Jacqui was standing behind her soon-to-be husband, who was lifting one of his super fluffy Samoyeds in front of him. Though it might seem like a fun little piccy with the pooch, Inbaal argued that it’s the same as putting a handbag in front of you as a wall of protection.

She explained: “When a person covers their front with an arm or a handbag, it is a protective gesture and is a nonverbal cue which indicates that they’d like to keep something back.

“When both Jacqui and Clint cover their fronts with an enormous canine, it is even more protective, with no attempt made to keep it casual. This is a very ‘extra’ way of performing this nonverbal protective gesture, and it shows the lengths they’d go to, to keep their private thoughts private.”

Deep connection? Yeh, maybe not

Clint

Jacqui and Clint are the definition of trying too hard, and according to the body language expert, this is most evident in the picture of them kissing atop the bar. Clint’s right foot is flexed against the bar stool, not natural or relaxed, and Jacqui’s balled up hand on his chest seems to suggest that she can’t “feel safe and relaxed when they kiss.”

“This is not a great sign for their relationship,” Inbaal added.

‘What we see there, is more incompatibility’

The next set of photos showed the couple playing on what appeared to be a jungle gym of some kind. They shared a kiss, which the expert described as “uneasy”, and in the next photo, their energies didn’t align.

“Where Clint grins fully, teeth showing in a wide, slightly exaggerated smile, Jacqui’s beam is muted, with her chin jutting and her lips tightened. His smile is broad, and hers coy, which suggests that their feelings in that moment are not aligned,” she explained.

Notice the lack of eye contact in this pic of MAFS’ Clint and Jacqui

Like the dog in the earlier photo, Inbaal clocked how Jacqui was using the glass of wine as a barrier between the camera and herself. This suggests she was not wholly comfortable in the moment.

“In the same picture, Clint’s body is almost entirely covered by one of the dogs, which he is carrying. In this scene, Jacqui looks at her man, but he’s looking away from her, breaking eye contact in order to gaze down at the camera. This lack of eye contact is apparent in most of the images and is a red flag in a relationship, showing that they’re in no hurry to relate to one another,” the body language expert added.

Some final thoughts on the body language of MAFS’ Clint and Jacqui

Body language expert Inbaal also shared some general thoughts on the viability of Jacqui and Clint’s post-MAFS relationship, and it’s not looking good, folks.

She detailed: “In many of the photos, Clint’s smile looks forced. The grooves around his eyes reveal that he’s squeezing his face into the shape of a smile, artificially, rather than be overcome with joy. In fact, the one photo where Clint’s smile is happy and genuine, is when he poses alone with one of the doggies.

“In the majority of the photos, it is apparent that Jacqui’s and Clint’s smiles don’t match – one will be much toothier than the other, or one might have their teeth parted as the other does not. And in most of the photos one of them forms a protective gesture, often both of them, with an item covering their bodies. This protective gesture is needed when a person doesn’t feel fully safe in a situation.”

Leaving us with one final cutting statement, Inbaal concluded how, when combined, all of these body language tidbits illustrate the “vast gulf of their apparent incompatibility.”
