‘Prove it’: Drunk driver’s shocking full conversation after killing newlywed bride
‘I hope my rental car is ok’
Newly released police footage has revealed what Jamie Lee Komoroski said and did in the hours after she crashed into a golf cart carrying newlyweds Samantha Miller and Aric Hutchinson.

Komoroski was driving drunk when she slammed into the golf cart on Folly Beach, South Carolina, on April 28, 2023, killing 34-year-old Samantha on what should have been her wedding night.
The footage, filmed inside the Folly Beach Police Department shortly after Komoroski was arrested, has now resurfaced and gone viral more than three years after the tragedy.
Jamie repeatedly demanded to call her dad
In the first part of the footage, Komoroski is visibly upset as she sits handcuffed in a police holding room. Her immediate focus appears to be getting in touch with her father, repeatedly asking officers if she can make a phone call.
“Can I call my dad? Can I get a phone call? Is that okay?” she asks.
When officers explain that she is under arrest and in custody for driving under the influence, she becomes increasingly frustrated.
“Nobody proved anything! So why don’t I have the right to call my dad?”
She then repeatedly challenges the officers, saying: “Prove it. No, prove it. Prove it!”

At another point, she tells them: “I would really enjoy if I could just go home and figure this out. I didn’t do anything, I swear.”
She also appears concerned about the vehicle she had been driving, saying: “I hope my rental car is okay.”
The footage then captures Komoroski addressing the camera after an officer apparently comments on her crying.
“Hello, hi camera! Yeah, I’m crying because he’s not letting me call my f**king father even though they haven’t proven s**t, and don’t have any right for me to be able to contact my family or anyone that I want to,” she says.
“So yeah, hello, I’m crying and, ooh, I’m being just a little baby!”
She then started chatting to police about her life

After spending around half an hour arguing with officers and asking to contact her father, Komoroski’s mood appeared to change.
Despite having just been involved in a crash that killed Samantha, she began making small talk with the officers around her.
At one point, she complained about her allergies, saying: “I don’t know about you guys but my allergies have been so bad. This pollen has been killing me.”
She then asked officers what their favourite cereal was.
Komoroski also began asking personal questions, including whether one officer was Filipino.
When he said he wasn’t, she replied: “My sister’s boyfriend is Filipino and Hawaiian and Japanese.”
She then launched into a lengthy explanation of her own family background.
“I’m 50% Polish. My dad said he was 100% Polish and I just checked like two years ago ’cause I’m like ‘Nobody’s 100% anything,’” she said.
She added that her family called her “the dark sheep” because of her darker hair and skin.
“We had a bunch of bats in our backyard that would like swoop in, and my siblings would be like, ‘The bats like to sweep in on people with dark hair,’” she said.
The conversation moved on to her job, South Carolina property and her personal life. She also told officers about her new kitten, Theo.
She bizarrely launched into a discussion about fast food

Komoroski’s conversation with police also turned to food, with the footage showing her enthusiastically discussing her favourite fast-food restaurants.
“F**k yes, oh my God, hell yeah, White Castle is such a vibe,” she says. “McDonald’s is my live or die, forever and forever.
“I like a good ol’ Big Mac, and a good ol’ 10-piece chicken nugget, and some good ol’ McDonald’s fries. Can’t beat it.”
She also talked about ice cream, saying: “There’s so many people that say they hate mint chocolate chip, and I’m like, it’s good.”
“My favorite personally is soft serve vanilla with rainbow sprinkles. But I’m a soft serve girlie.”
The casual conversation is particularly jarring given that it took place just hours after Komoroski had crashed into the newlyweds’ golf cart as they left their wedding reception. Samantha was killed in the collision, while her new husband Aric survived with serious injuries. Two other people in the golf cart were also injured.
Komoroski remained in custody for close to a year before pleading guilty. In December 2024, she was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the crash that killed Samantha and left Aric with life-changing injuries.
