OMG! Katy Perry just posted a massive response to how the internet’s been treating her
Katy says ‘the online world’ is trying to make her ‘a human piñata’
Since she made her disastrous music comeback last year with her album 143, things have gone from bad to worse for Katy Perry. Once truly one of the greats – a record breaking 2010s pop star with an eye-watering amount of hits – the critical and commercial failure of 143 has resulted in the downfall of Katy Perry to merely more than a laughing stock online. Twitter is particularly brutal in its consistent taking down of Katy Perry, which has only gone from bad to badder following a widely criticised trip to space with Blue Origin and her recent Lifetimes tour debuting to clips going viral for all the wrong reasons. It seems she’s had more drama than even the most spicy reality TV show recently. Now Katy Perry has actually posted a massive response to the internet dragging her senseless, and she really didn’t hold back.
‘The online world tries to make me a human piñata’
In response to the recent relentless dragging of Katy Perry, which began after she reunited with Dr Luke to make her latest album and had a lead single so bad she faced AI music allegations, her fans funded a Times Square billboard to show their love for her.
Katy Perry reacts to fans setting up a Times Square billboard sending her love:
“When the ‘online’ world tries to make me a human Piñata, I take it with grace and send them love, cause I know so many people are hurting in so many ways and the internet is very much so a dumping… pic.twitter.com/pR915YsR5J

Responding to the fan gesture, Katy Perry wrote a lengthy statement. The pop star explained “I’m so grateful for you guys. We’re in this beautiful and wild journey together. I can continue to remain true to myself, heart open and honest especially because of our bond. I love you guys and have grown up together with you and am so excited to see you all over the world this year!
“Please know I am ok, I have done a lot work around knowing who I am, what is real and what is important to me. My therapist said something years ago that has been a game changer, ‘no one can make you believe something about yourself that you don’t already believe about yourself’ and if I ever do have any feelings about it then it’s an opportunity to investigate the feeling underneath it.

“When the ‘online’ world tries to make me a human Piñata, I take it with grace and send them love, cause I know so many people are hurting in so many ways and the internet is very much so a dumping ground for unhinged and unhealed. What’s real is seeing your faces every night, singing in unison, reading your notes, feeling your warmth.
“I find people to lock eyes and sing with and I know we are healing each other in a small way when I get to do that co I’m not perfect, and I actually have omitted that word from my vocabulary, I’m on a human journey playing the game of life with an audience of many and sometimes I fall but… I get back up and go on and continue to play the game and somehow through my battered and bruised adventure I keep looking to the light and in that light a new level UNLOCKS.”
As you can see from the Katy Perry response, if you drag celebrities on the internet… They’re going to see it. Though if she’s to be believed, they also likely do not care.
