‘Beautiful and talented’: Tributes paid to Nottingham student who died after e-bike crash

The family of the Nottingham student who died this week have paid tribute to her, calling her a “happy, beautiful and talented girl.”

Sophie Goode died on Tuesday (25th February) after an e-bike crash at the University of Nottingham’s main campus.

18-year-old Sophie was a first year sport and exercise science student, and according to her sister, she was on her way to watch the sunrise early on Tuesday morning when the road accident occurred.

She sustained serious injuries and despite the best efforts of medical teams, she later died.

According to Nottinghamshire Police, her family paid tribute to her calling her a “beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend.”

They went on to say: “Sophie was a happy, beautiful and talented girl who was loved by everyone who knew her.

“When she wasn’t singing or dancing, she was planning which live music concerts to go to with her younger sister.

“She really was the life and soul everywhere she went.

“She just loved life, loved people and was surrounded by her soulmates at university, where she quickly established herself as part of the Nottingham women’s cricket family.”

They described her as a determined young girl and said she passed away too soon.

Her sister also paid tribute to her on social media, writing: “She was loved by so many of us and she always will be. We were all so proud of her and continue to be.”

“Forever 18 my princess. I’ll always continue to love you unconditionally. I love you my beautiful girl keep dancing up there, we will all do you proud.”

Nottinghamshire Police is continuing to investigate Sophie’s death, and encourage people with any information to call 101 and quote incident 55 of 25 February.
