MrBeast just posted the strangest TikTok ‘brainrot’ rewind and I don’t get what’s going on
I have the highest of hopes for Gen Z
MrBeast has long been the reigning king of the internet, from random challenges to huge money giveaways. After “completing” YouTube, MrBeast has taken to TikTok and posted the strangest video which is supposed to resemble a TikTok rewind, just like the YouTube one that always disappoints.
In the video, he uses so many Gen Z phrases and even got the faces of the most iconic memes of the year to be a part of it. I don’t really get what’s going on, but it’s quite entertaining if you’ve been keeping up with TikTok lore over the course of 2024.
@mrbeast Bro is literally stuck in 2024 brainrot olympics 💀 #rizz #skibidi #brainrot
In the video, Gina the Chick-Fil-A girl appears, and throws sauce at MrBeast while doing her iconic pose. The cookie man then appears from behind him and says “Jimmy, what you really need is a double chunk chocolate cookie!”
As he runs away, he bumps into a man mildly (and I mean VERY mildly) resembling Timothee Chalamet dressed in his costume from the Wonka movie, and says “you look like the guy who won the Timothee Chalamet lookalike contest,” a nod to all the wild lookalike contests that have taken place this year. He hands him a MrBeast Feastable chocolate bar because what’s a viral video without a little bit of self promo?
He then passes a dancing guy on the stairs and ends the video with The Rizzler, who really just sums up TikTok brainrot content this year. He tells MrBeast that it’s “raining rizz outside.”
Many of the people in the comments have commended the TikTok as an attempt to summarise what the app is really like right now.
“Bro for real dropped the first TikTok rewind,” one user wrote.

“Historians are gonna skip our generation,” another laughed.
“Never skip a hopecore video,” MrBeast wrote himself in the video comments, a nod to hopecore compilations which have been huge on TikTok this year. It’s clear our generation is striving for greatness, funniness and to be as detached from real-life issues as possible. Oh well, it’s not like we could afford any of it anyway!
