Ranked: The remaining I’m A Celeb contestants by how likely they are to make top three
I’m A Celeb will get a new monarch on Sunday
It’s devastating but we are fast approaching the conclusion of this year’s I’m A Celeb, so naturally I have to do a messy ranking of this year’s contestants based on how likely they are to make the top three.
We spend most of the year waiting for the I’m A Celeb cast to drop, and then once it’s here it leaves us all too quickly. It’s all happening so fast, Jane Moore and Dean McCullough were axed last week, followed by a fuming Tulisa who has since disappeared from the hotel. During Tuesday night’s instalment, Melvin Odoom got the chop.
We are now down to just eight contestants of the original 12, and with Sunday night’s finale coming in just a few days, Ant and Dec are going to be chopping left right and centre. My earlier ranking was pretty accurate, so let’s see if my psychic skills are still on point.
8. Alan Halsall
Alan Halsall is the drama-free boy next door type, but unfortunately, that has also placed him in the middle of the pack with few truly viral moments. Now that Dean, Jane, Tulisa, and Melvin are gone, I don’t think Alan is safe from elimination as he struggles to stand out amongst bigger personalities.
Even if he’s not the next celeb to be heading back to the swanky hotel, he won’t be far behind.
7. Barry McGuigan
I think I might be missing something because I just don’t understand the Barry McGuigan fever on Twitter or from Danny Jones. He’s boring, sorry.

Though I do think the reduced cast has allowed his spotlight to shine a little more, I just don’t think he’s beating powerhouses like Maura or Danny to the top three. Barry was in danger of being kicked last week, which is never a good sign, but I could be wrong and he could win it all if his vocal Twitter supporters spend less time Tweeting and more time voting.
6. Reverend Richard Coles
The good Reverend has been a surprising comedian during his I’m A Celeb stint, building bridges with GK Barry and Maura as they address important topics like faith, relationships, and… scissoring?
Though I personally love Reverend Richard Coles, the cynic in me just screams that he won’t be in the top three. Prove me wrong, please!
5. Oti Mabuse
Though she was somewhat forgettable in the earliest episodes of this season, Strictly Come Dancing’s Oti Mabuse has arisen as a surprising contender for the jungle crown. Unfortunately for her, I believe the contestants above her on this list are practically guaranteed to rank higher when those votes come tumbling down.
4. GK Barry
GK Barry, which is not even her real name, has been rewriting the bad reputation influencers get with witty one-liners and an almost infectious personality. During the first few episodes, I was certain that she would make the top three – if not win it – but that confidence slowly began to dissipate as I realised that she’s not necessarily more interesting than her campmates, just louder.
I would happily place her higher on this list if it weren’t for the looming presence of one Coleen Rooney.
3. Coleen Rooney
Like the rest of the nation, I was team Coleen during the Wagatha Christie drama in 2022 but the idea that Coleen somehow has psychic abilities or a talent for investigation has gone stale. If you look past the scandal of it, she posted some fake stories and set her account to private – she’s hardly Sherlock Holmes.
There’s also the running theory that Coleen is a plant with the highest earning I’m A Celeb contestant to date, so of course producers are going to want her in the jungle for as long as possible. She’s here to stay guys, sadly.
2. Danny Jones
From the moment he touched down in the jungle, bookies have pegged Danny Jones as the champion of 2024’s I’m A Celeb. It’s still definitely a possibility, at least according to Twitter, but he’s without a doubt getting to the top three at least.
1. Maura Higgins
What to say about Maura Higgins that hasn’t already been screamed about in gushing Instagram tributes and TikTok edits? She’s a clear contender for the crown, which is not surprising when you consider her meteoric rise to fame after Love Island.
Providing she doesn’t get into a verbal boxing match – which honestly I don’t blame her for because she’s too good at it – Maura will very soon be joining the likes of Sam Thompson, Jill Scott, and Vicky Pattison.
