Priya and Aidan both share statements confirming sad reason they split after Love Island

Today, it was revealed that six weeks after the final of the show, Love Island 2026 couple Priya Jaswal and Aidan Murphy have split up.
It was reported that after going on dates and meeting each other’s families, they had decided they were better off as friends. Now, the former couple have both posted statements on their Instagram Stories. They confirmed the news, and said the reason was because they were better off as friends. They both sent the other all the best moving forward.
In full, Priya said: “I’ve had the most amazing experience this summer, and meeting Aidan was a special part of my Love Island journey. We’ve shared some lovely memories together and I’ll always be grateful for the time we spent getting to know each other.
“Since leaving the villa, and getting to experience life outside together, we’ve realised we’re better suited as friends. I have noting but love and respect for Aidan, and I’ll always look back on our time together very fondly. I genuinely wish him nothing but the very best for everything that’s to come.”

Aidan echoed this, and in his post said: “I’ve had the most amazing experience this summer, and meeting Priya was without a doubt one of the best parts of my Love Island journey. We’ve shared some really special memories and I’ll always be grateful for the time we’ve spent together.
“However, after getting to know each other outside of the villa, we’ve realised that we’re much better suited as friends. I have nothing but love and respect for Priya and wish her nothing but the very best for everything that’s to come.”
That’s that then! This comes just one day after it was revealed Yasmin and Tommy are also no longer a thing. They too simply decided things weren’t going anywhere between them romantically, and ended it on good terms.
