‘We just came to a bit of a crossroads’
The Love Island alumna, professional horse girl and general nepo baby Gemma Owen has revealed she actually split from her boyfriend Red several months ago.
Red Morgan is a showjumper from Cheshire. He’s also the son of Steve Morgan, a businessman who started the construction company Redrow plc. According to The Sunday Times Rich List 2026, Steve Morgan’s net worth is a truly incomprehensible £935 million.
Gemma Owen and Red went Insta official in April 2025, when Gemma shared pics on Insta of their holiday in Dubai. The couple were spotted watching the tennis at Wimbledon that summer. However, they secretly separated several months ago.

In a new YouTube vlog, Gemma Owen shared: “It’s been, as you can imagine, a pretty hard few weeks, months.” Gemma revealed that she and Red actually split up back in June, a day or so after a close family friend sadly died unexpectedly.
Gemma did elaborate on the reasons behind her split from Red. She explained: “Red and I are on good terms. We’re friends. It was a mutual decision, and ultimately we just came to a bit of a crossroads, and we wanted different things out of the relationship.
“We didn’t want to waste anyone’s time, if we weren’t both sort of aligned with what we want.”
Gemma hasn’t been sharing as many details about her life on YouTube over the last few months due to the the launch of Meet the Owens, a new TV show about her family. Apparently, Gemma “wasn’t allowed to disclose anything in the storyline until it was launched”.
It sounds as if Gemma hasn’t moved on with anybody new since the break-up. “I’ve just been taking a bit of time to myself,” she continued, “obviously with my family, with my friends, doing things that make me happy”. Gemma has also fitted in “a lot of training” for equestrian events.
