The full 17-minute 911 call Mica Miller and her sister made when JP said he was ‘armed and ready’

In Netflix’s Death of the Pastor’s Wife, there was a brief moment that touched on the 911 call Mica and her sister placed about the former’s husband, JP Miller. At the time, an “armed and ready” JP was reportedly on his way to retrieve his wife. 

As we learned in the Netflix documentary, Mica Miller was a victim of coercive control from her second husband, Pastor JP Miller. He isolated her from her family, and even when she was able to find a brief reprieve with her loved ones, he stalked and pestered her both in person and over the phone. 

In one particular moment, Mica was staying with her sister when JP threatened to come and get her. He was allegedly armed.

Mica and her sister placed this 911 call about JP Miller 

True Crime podcast host Robbie Harvey has followed the Mica Miller case since it happened in 2024, but he’s since returned to the story in light of Death of the Pastor’s Wife. 

In November of 2022, Mica stayed at her sister’s house after a blowup with her then-husband. He didn’t take no for an answer and continued to harass her over the phone, even saying that he would drive over there to get her back. He was going to dump her belongings in the street, he said, unless she returned home. 

On September 2, Robbie published the full 911 call that Mica and her sister, Sierra Francis, placed in 2022. It was a follow-up call after JP continued to harass them by saying he was “armed and ready.”

Sierra told dispatch: “He’s texting her, threatening that he’s going to kill himself. He said, ‘My blood is going to be on your hands.’ But prior to that, he was threatening to come in here and he said, ‘Call the cops. I don’t care. I’m um armed and ready.’ Which he is. He just purchased about six firearms in the past couple of days.”

The 911 operator sent the sisters a link where they could provide pictures of JP’s vehicles and the texts he was sending to her. 

“She’s showing me the messages that I can send you. He texted her at 12:24 and said, ‘Drive down the street or it’s going to be hell.’ And his one says, ‘Why would you do it? I wouldn’t do anything like that. My blood is on you and my kids will know.”

Though Mica questioned whether she should turn off her location, dispatch suggested it could create further problems and inflame the situation more. 

After more background information on JP, which included his physical description, the operator sent out officers to Sierra’s house. 

Mica said in the 911 call: “Yeah, he tried calling and then I didn’t answer. So, didn’t call after that. And I have a friend on the way to my house to see if he’s at the house. Because he wasn’t at the church, which she lives right by the church and she’s headed to our house, which is like seven minutes away from the church.”

The officers soon arrived at Sierra’s house, and Mica went outside to talk to them. As we know from the documentary, Mica ultimately returned to JP’s side. 

In 2024, her body was found in a creek with a gunshot wound to the head. Her death was ruled a suicide, but JP is awaiting a federal trial for cyberstalking and providing false information to investigators.
