The full 911 call Mica Miller made before she died, as bits got cut from Death of the Pastor’s Wife
Dispatch tried to ring her back multiple times
The most-watched documentary right now is Death of the Pastor’s Wife on Netflix. The true crime doc looks at Mica Miller’s life, her marriage to pastor John-Paul “JP” Miller, and the events surrounding her death in April 2024. The series features chilling parts of the 911 call Mica Miller made just moments before she died.
Mica and JP were married, but their relationship was allegedly filled with abuse and hurt. In the end, Mica ended things. Just two days after she formally served Miller with divorce papers, she was found dead. She had died from a gunshot wound, in an apparent suicide.
Before she died, Mica Miller was seen leaving the home she was staying in, on Ring doorbell footage. She then headed to a pawn shop, and bought a gun. Following this, she drove to a gas station, before heading to Lumber River State Park. There, she rang 911. This was a little before 3pm.

The full call was a little over two and a half minutes long, and more was said than what was shown in the Netflix documentary series. As we heard in the show, the call started with dispatch informing the caller that it was 911 and the area, before asking what the address of the emergency was.
Mica replied: “Hi, um, are you able to trace the location of my phone?” The reply: “Um, let me see. You don’t know where you’re at?” Mica said that she was at “a National Park.” Dispatch then asked her the phone number she was calling from, which Mica provided.
“Um, where’s the park located at?,” Mica was then asked. She said: “In Fair Bluff. I have my location on I think on my phone. Find My Phone is on. I just did my share my location.” Dispatch replied: “Ok I’m showing um, hold on one second. I don’t think you are in Robeson County. Are you at the Lumber River State Park?”
Mica said: “Yeah that’s where I am.” She was then asked to explain what had happened, and Mica said: “Um, I’m about to kill myself, and I just want my family to know where to find me.” Dispatch then said: “Ok ma’am, just listen to what I’m saying ok? Let me make sure I got the exact location where you’re at ok just one minute.”

Mica then hung up. After the call ended, dispatch tried to call Mica back multiple times but were unable to make contact.
