Death of the Pastor’s Wife: All the details of JP Miller’s three wives and where they are now

JP Miller is the centre of new Netflix documentary, Death of the Pastor’s Wife. The true crime doc looks at Mica Miller’s life, her marriage to pastor John-Paul “JP” Miller, and the events surrounding her death in April 2024. 

JP Miller has been married three times. The South Carolina pastor was accused of stalking and harassing wife Mica, and the Netflix doc detailed their allegedly toxic relationship. Before JP married Mica, he was married to Alison “Ali” Williams. Just over one year after Mica died, he married again. JP Miller and Suzie Skinner are still married today. 

Here are all the details we know about the three wives of JP Miller. 

Ali Williams

Ali Williams was the first wife of JP Miller. They were married from around 2000 to 2015, and share four children. Miller allegedly started having an affair with Mica Miller in 2015. 

After officially divorcing Miller in September of 2015, Ali moved away from Solid Rock Church as her ex pursued a relationship with Mica. After Mica’s death, Ali is reported to have filed for sole custody of her children with Miller. 

As per a filing obtained by People, she accused her ex of “increasingly unstable behaviours” and said that he used the custody arrangement to “harass” her. Additionally, he allegedly “failed to provide a safe and stable environment for the minor children during his periods of visitation, and has both exposed and involved the minor children in incidents of domestic dispute and discord.”

Ali is now said to live a very private life out of the spotlight, avoiding the scandal associated with her past.

When Mica Miller was just 13-years-old, she met the man who would later become her husband, the pastor of Solid Rock Church, John-Paul “JP” Miller. He was 15 years older than her, and a father of five. 

JP Miller officiated Mica’s first marriage, and then three years later, the pair started having an affair. They both ultimately divorced their partners, and got married to one another in 2017. 

Behind closed doors, their relationship was filled with coercive control, and abuse. Miller was accused of “mentally torturing” Mica. She then filed for divorce, and was found dead just two days later. “I’m about to kill myself, and I want my family to find me,” she said, in a 911 audio recording.

The North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later ruled her death a suicide by gunshot wound, something her family has consistently challenged. They argued the scene had been staged. 

Suzi Skinner

JP Miller is now married to Suzie Skinner, a former member of Solid Rock Church. Before becoming JP Miller’s wife, Suzie was married to Chris Skinner. Chris was a US veteran and had become quadriplegic following a serious accident. Suzie is said to have worked as his physical therapist. Chris died of accidental drowning in 2021. 

Suzie and JP married on June 1st, 2025. During her relationship with JP, Mica Miller learned of an alleged affair between JP and Suzie. She confronted him over this, and he said he would end things with Suzie. 

As of today, Suzie Skinner is still married to JP Miller and is reportedly living in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, area. JP has continued preaching to a much smaller congregation at pop-up locations around Myrtle Beach, and Suzie is also reportedly involved in the worship side of the ministry.

As per Tudum, she has been leading worship alongside JP as he continues preaching to a congregation of around 15 to 20 people.
