Where is JP Miller’s first wife Ali Williams now? She made serious claims after Mica’s death

In Netflix’s Death of the Pastor’s Wife, which largely focused on John Paul ‘JP’ Miller’s treatment of Mica, Alison ‘Ali’ Williams was largely a footnote in the story. 

We didn’t hear from Ali directly in the three-part documentary, but she did pop up several times during episode one. She was married to JP Miller from approximately 2000 to 2015, and gave him four to five kids before Mica entered the picture at age 13. 

Of course, JP and Mica’s affair did not start until much later, but Ali was the one who discovered it when looking at her husband’s phone. They got a divorce, and that was pretty much the last we heard of her. 

But her story did not end there.

What happened to Ali Williams after the Death of the Pastor’s wife? 

After officially divorcing JP Miller in September of 2015, Ali moved away from Solid Rock Church as her ex pursued a relationship with Mica. 

Mica’s death seemingly changed things for her, because she filed for sole custody of their kids afterwards, People reported. In the filing, she accused her ex of “increasingly unstable behaviours” and that he used the custody arrangement to “harass” her. Additionally, he allegedly “failed to provide a safe and stable environment for the minor children during his periods of visitation, and has both exposed and involved the minor children in incidents of domestic dispute and discord.”

It’s unclear what happened after the filing, because the custody case was later sealed.

In another court filing, Ali levied serious accusations at JP about being involved with minors in his congregation. 

“J.P. informed me that he had been inappropriate with minor female members of our church, and disclosed to me the identity of these girls, I immediately contacted them to encourage them to come forward,” the affidavit read. “Although they each shared with me detailed accounts of what J.P. did to them, they were too scared of J.P. to make a police report or testify in Court.”

These accusations were only included in court filings, and no charges were brought as a result. However, an unnamed woman did file a lawsuit in 2025 that alleged she was one such minor who was abused. JP “expressly denied” the allegations that he’d been sexually inappropriate in a counterclaim of his own. 

It’s unclear where Ali is now, with numerous articles stating that she lives a very private life away from the scandal of her past.
