Um, Tulisa isn’t even her real name it’s just a nickname she was given as a child?!

Guys, I can’t believe I didn’t know Tulisa’s real name isn’t even Tulisa. People have been shook to find out she has a last name as well as just going by Tulisa, but just you wait. You’ve got a storm coming if you thought that was your only worry!

So, it turns out Tulisa is just a nickname. She was given a different name at birth. Speaking on Olivia Attwood’s podcast, the singer said nobody has ever said anything to her about the fact Tulisa is not her real name, so you can feel a bit better if you had no idea.

“Tulisa is not your actual name,” Olivia said. Tulisa replied: “No, it isn’t. You’re the first person to bring that up ever. Love that.”

So, what is Tulisa’s real name if it isn’t Tulisa?

Tulisa’s real name in full is Tula Paulinea Contostavlos. She was born in 1988 and is from Camden, the area that inspired the name behind her group, N-Dubz. Speaking further about her birth name on the podcast, host Olivia Attwood added: “All the years of knowing you, following you, I’ve never heard that mentioned.”

Tulisa then explained her now nickname, and said: “My grandmother is also called Tula, so I was named after her. So Tulisa means ‘tiny Tula’ in Greek.”

Tulisa went on to say people don’t even know her real name, and then pronounce her nickname wrong, too. It should be said like “Tul-itz-ah” not like “Tuh-lees-a” – how most of us a very guilty of saying it. “Yeah… so that ended up being my nickname in Greek, growing up,” she added.

Tulisa is now in the I’m A Celeb jungle, and is one of the highest paid cast members on the show this year. Ahead of the show, she said her role in the camp will be the “joker”. Tulisa added: “For such a small person, I have got a big personality and I can be quite jokey! I am hoping people will share my sense of humour.”
