York voted as one of the friendliest cities in the UK

But we aren’t as friendly as we used to be

According to a new report titled Unbroken Britain, 2,500 British residents were surveyed about how they regarded their home city compared to a year ago. The poll covered a range of topics that included friendliness of people, happiness and safety.

York came seventh in the friendliest city category, scoring 7.1 out of 10. Although, this score showed a 5 per cent decrease compared to last year’s total. We also came in sixth place on the happiness scale and seventh for safety, both resulting in a slight drop from last year’s poll.

Based on the poll, Swansea won the accolade of friendliest city, with Worcester and Aberystwyth being the happiest and safest cities respectively based on data from the credit company Provident.

We are pretty nice still

Needless to say, London finished bottom in almost every category which makes us think: Did Lancaster end up being surveyed?
