Alyson Cruise

The formidable admin of Cuntry Living, Alyson is a new kind of BNOC – the digital one. She somehow finds the time to comment on everything, and will win almost every argument with an impressive ability to cite studies and empirical facts. Anyone who’s dared to post on the Facebook group will have encountered her at some point, and her ban hammer is feared across Oxford – don’t get on her wrong side.

Alex Doody

Exeter’s Alex Doody might not be known to you by name – but you’ll struggle to have missed his kimonos at Park End. The eccentric Cherwell journo has a style sense so eye catching that he’s become famous on that alone. But in Oxford, that’s enough.

Abbas Kazmi

The Chairman of the Guild and social butterfly extraordinaire, Abbas is quite possibly the coolest guy in town. He is, after all, the one that got Kanye West to come and speak last term. Re-founding the Guild in his first year, it’s been a busy time for him – he’s about to leave Oxford for good, but his name will undoubtedly live on in the mutual friends of everyone you ever Facebook stalk.

Nikolay Koshikov

The only fresher with a Union officership to his name, Nikolay is a fast riser. He knows the right people – and a lot of them. Referred to by some as ‘Roberto Weeden-Sanz 2.0’, he’ll be out at Bridge, Park End or Wahoo every night. Definitely one to watch – he’ll be Union pres before you know it.

Louisa Manning

Louisa Manning entered international celeb stardom when a letter she wrote standing up to a former bully went viral. But that’s not all she’s got going for her – she’s a prolific cox for colleges across the uni too. As one fan described her, she’s “Very good at taking advantage of being small and lovable to get her way into anywhere”. No wonder she’s a BNOC.

Joseph Miles

More commonly known as “TRAITOR” when David Browne shouts it, Mr Miles is best known for being addicted to Overheard. He’s also a Union fixture – anyone who saw him and his RO-buddies patrolling Oxford dressed like a scene out of Reservoir Dogs will never forget the sight. One of those people that everyone knows, even though they might not be quite sure why.

Femi Nylander

The king of Oxford’s drama scene. You’ve almost certainly seen him in a play, whether it was Assassins, Twelfth Night or the currently playing Never Mind Where Your Daughter Lies. And he’s the frontman of the great band Millie is a Boy. He’s cool, he’s suave and he’s as close as we get to an Olivier winning actor in Oxford.

Jack Remmington

One of the few on this list to be famous outside of Oxford, heartthrob Remmington is adored by all he meets. The Out of the Blue frontman has it all – the voice of an angel, the body of a Greek god and the wit of a true comedian. His topless body has been seen by millions across the globe – a true BNOC indeed.

Zuleyka Shahin

She went from a Union member to Treasurer in just a few weeks. The best thing to come out of Roberto’s forced resignation, Zuleyka is a tour de force – standing up for liberation groups and running the Union’s finances all at the same time. And to top it all off, her impeccable fashion sense means she looks good while doing it too. We hear that she’s running for a top Union position in this term’s elections, as well…

Annie Teriba

As politically involved as they come, Annie Teriba is the perfect Wadhamite. Access and Admissions Officer at OUSU, serial social campaigner and one of our NUS representatives. Plus she runs a million and one club nights. Oh, and she’s the admin of Overheard. How she has time for it all, we’ll never know. But she’s damn good at it, and that’s why everyone knows her name.
