*Immediately cancels all plans*

If like us you had no idea that Exeter had an official Cocktail Week, then you’re in for a lovely surprise as Exeter has its very own cocktail extravaganza taking place across the city with 18 local businesses involved.

Exeter Cocktail Week (EXECW) runs from May 31st to June 7th.

You can get access to the whole week’s events via wristband – you can either get a day-pass or a week pass depending on the state of your liver, and collection of the week wristbands will be on 25th May from Boom Battle Bar.

Businesses taking part include all the student faves including: Artigiano, Badavis Lounge, Boom Battle Bar, Bootlegger, The Botanist, The Cocktail Club, Crocketts, The Cosy Club, Coolings, Eat The Bird, Hotel Du Vin, Mangos, Margoux, The Mermaid, The Monkey Suit, On The Waterfront, Quayside Distillery, The Terrace.

There are a whole load of events in store across the week:

Wednesday:

VIP Opening Night: Cocktails and complimentary canapes at Quayside Distillery to mark the start of Exeter Cocktail Week 2023.

Thursday:

Aval Dor Pop-up: Aval Dor will be offering free samples of their range from 6-8 pm and Mermaid will be shaking up an exclusive cocktail using its vodka.

Friday:

Cocktail Week Launch party: VIP launch party event from 6pm opening into an exclusive Exeter Cocktail Week party from 9pm until close. Free cocktail on arrival with your wristband.

Saturday:

The Botanist Take-Over Party: Hendricks Gin takes over The Botanist’s roof terrace with a DJ from 4 pm, £5 off Hendricks cocktails with your Exeter Cocktail Week wristband, plus access to the VIP Area of the roof terrace with fire pit. Doors open 12 pm until late.

Sunday:

Bruch from the Coals: On Sunday, seafood barbeque legends, Loluli’s Fire & Fish have teamed up with Quayside Distillery to bring you a special one-off brunch menu straight from the coals.

Every venue has created at least one special, limited-edition cocktail for £5, with most venues creating a showcase – something that promotes a brand or local producer. If its roof top bar wasn’t enough, Margoux for the occasion has used honey made on the roof of the Princesshay shopping centre for its showcase. It is a celebration of local mixology skills and an opportunity for everyone (especially students in their overdrafts) to have a banging boozy summer night.
