Prosthetic? Never heard of her: 11 actors who bared the real thing, and looked good doing it
Here’s the Hollywood Walk of Famous Dongs
Actors are used to bearing their souls on your television screen, but when it comes time to bare literally everything to do the world, some understandably opt for a prosthetic penis.
We’ve heard the likes of Jason Isaacs, Drew Starkey, and actors from Jonathan Sadowski’s in Sex/Life choosing to wear a prosthetic – but not these lads.
Oh, didn’t know House of Guinness got down like that

In Netflix’s newish show, House of Guinness, Anthony Boyle flaunted his god-given talents, not because someone wrote the scene in, but because he demanded it.
“It’s not a prosthetic. It’s my own body,” he said. “I sort of wrote that aspect into the scene; It was the night before we were filming, and he was in the script originally meant to be getting his cufflinks on by the mirror.”
Cooper Koch flaunted his monster on Netflix
In episode three of Monster: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, after the men had been arrested for the murder of their parents, Erik Menendez was showering with another prisoner by the name of Tony. Suffice it to say that social media was not disappointed, as one person confessed to their “jaw being on the floor.”
“Just to say, mine is not a prosthetic,” Cooper told Andy Cohen during an episode of Watch What Happens Live. “Well… hung.”

Most of the world knows Jesse Williams from projects like Grey’s Anatomy, but the internet knows him from the leaks that tumbled through Twitter following his performance as baseball player Darren Lemming in the Broadway revival of Take Me Out. The picture was so shocking that some questioned if it had been photoshopped or if he was wearing a prosthetic for some extra length.
Oscar Isaac didn’t know his manhood made the final cut

In 2021, Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain played a married couple navigating turbulent waters in Scenes From a Marriage. While most fans noticed the actor’s business, Oscar Isaac himself didn’t realise he was full frontal until much later.
“I was surprised because I didn’t know that was gonna happen,” he told the ladies of The View. “You get sent the stuff to look at and to be like, ‘Okay, I’m fine with that.’ But I saw it on a laptop, quite dark, and I didn’t notice what was happening down there. It was a surprise when I started seeing all these [headlines] like, ‘It’s full frontal!’ I’m like, ‘No, what are you talking about?! And I saw it clear as day on the big TV there’.”
This actor *technically* wore a prosthetic

Okay, so this inclusion is a little cheeky because all the hung zombies in 28 Years Later were legally obligated to wear prosthetics because of minors on set. However, the alpha zombie actor, Chi Lewis-Parry, basically confirmed it was not too far from reality.
“Not even sure if I should be asking this, but… was it in proportion?” a journalist asked, to which he responded, “Well, I’m 6′ 8″. I’ll say no more!”
Michael Fassbender didn’t have time to stress
Shame (2011) is one of the most powerful films of its decade, a haunting look at addiction and isolation. Michael Fassbender delivers a performance that should have won an Oscar.

2011’s Shame featured Michael Fassbender as an unapologetic s*x addict who tried to get his fix through whatever means necessary. The Hollywood actor’s prosthetic-less penis was obviously the star of the film.
“We moved very fast. We shot it in 25 days, so I kind of had to get over it and get on with it,” he told the Hollywood Reporter, suggesting he didn’t have time to worry about how he looked downstairs.
Ewan Mitchell recently joined TV’s penis hall of fame

Despite being fairly new to the world of acting, Ewan Mitchell shrugged off shame and dropped his draws in season two of HBO’s House of the Dragon. The one-eyed prince stood proudly on his bed in a picture that is not uncommon on social media.
He explained to Vulture: “Scenes like this start with a conversation about how far you’re prepared to go. It wasn’t a choice we made lightly. But it’s true to Aemond that he shocks the audience. Weakness is not part of Aemond’s vocabulary.”
Barry Keoghan did not wear a prosthetic for Saltburn
For better or worse Saltburn captured our hearts and minds last Christmas. Perhaps the most notable moment came during the final few minutes as Barry Keoghan’s character Oliver Quick danced around his new house in the buff. The scene was set to Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Murder On The Dancefloor, making the moment even more iconic.
You’ve got to stan Sebastian Stan’s lack of prosthetic

Using Sebastian Stan and a prosthetic in one sentence immediately conjures images of Pam and Tommy, but as we know, he did use a prosthetic for the talking penis scene. Who could have guessed?
The same could not be said for his role as Micky in 2020’s Monday, as he explained to Digital Spy: “If it was truthful and made sense, then OK. Obviously trust was a big thing here.”
Alex Hassell’s only Rival is underwear

Alex Hassell’s full frontal moment in Rivals certainly had the audience gripped, and I can confirm that he wasn’t wearing a fake penis during his tennis match against Emily Atack’s character.
“It was discussed how comfortable I was whether or not it would be me or prosthetics or digital. But in the end, we just went for it,” he told Metro.

Magneto (Michael Fassbender) has already made the list, but did you know that Professor Xavier (James McAvoy) is also familiar with ditching his clothes on film? He did just that in 2006’s Last King of Scotland.
“Yeah, I like to get naked. I like being naked, I like being naked on stage, more than I like being naked on film,” he explained.
