Stephen defends Jono and says he got ‘the worst edit’ on MAFS Australia

So much talk from reality stars recently about blaming it on the edit, and with good reason. It’s not just RuPaul’s Drag Race notorious for its editing, with RuPaul releasing the retaliation track Blame It On The Edit clapping back at contestants moaning about how they came across on the show. Ekin-Su recently blamed her Celebrity Big Brother backlash on the edit, too. Now, Stephen from MAFS Australia has spoken out on who he thinks got the worst edit on MAFS Australia, and he’s come out swinging for Jono.

Jono was heavily criticised for not defending Lauren over Jack’s “muzzle” remark.

Speaking on a podcast by Yahoo Lifestyle called Behind The Edit, Stephen said when asked who he thought got the worst edit “It’s not at all who you’d think.

“Jono has copped a very different edit and just in the sense of removing context. So everyone I’ve spoken to about Jono thinks that’s he a very meek, quiet person but he was probably one of the most vocal males at those dinner parties. He was very opinionated, he was very calm in addressing those opinions, so the poor guy has lost a whole portion of his personality.

“That’s definitely something I watch, and being at those dinner parties the ones I was there for, I remember, like, ‘OK now Jono is going to step in and say something’ and it just wouldn’t happen, poor guy.

“I think the majority of the cast have got an accurate edit, it’s like heightened versions of what they actually were,” Stephen concluded.
