A rundown of all the drama between Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa
Back in 2017, Francia donated her kidney to Selena
Following the release of Selena Gomez’s documentary My Mind and Me, the singer is currently in an online spat with her kidney donor, Francia Raisa. In 2017, Francia Raisa donated one of her kidneys to the former Disney star following Selena’s long battle with lupus disease and they both underwent a difficult transplant process. Despite the two seemingly being the best of friends, they have since been feuding online. Here is rundown of all the drama between Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa:
In Gomez’s new documentary, her health struggles are shown throughout, but Francia Raisa is never mentioned. In the lead up to the documentary, Selena sat down with Rolling Stone magazine, in which she spoke about her experiences in the entertainment industry. In the interview, she [Selena] said: “I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities. My only friend in the industry really is Taylor [Swift].”
E News later shared the quote onto its Instagram page, with the caption: “This friendship? It comes naturally.” Francia left a comment on the post, which said: “Interesting.”
Fans of the How I Met Your Father actress thought she felt snubbed by Selena Gomez and it was later confirmed when she unfollowed Gomez on Instagram.
Gomez has since responded to the supposed feud in a now deleted comment on a TikTok video, which read: “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know.”
Nothing else has been said regarding their friendship, but Selena still follows Francia on Instagram. Back in 2017, Selena shared a photo next to Francia after the kidney transplant. The caption read: “There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis.”
