People on TikTok are auditioning to become Tesco’s self-service checkout voice

Tesco has made its first post on TikTok, announcing a competition to find the new voice on its self-service checkout and there’s some real talent out there, let me tell you.

Using the duet feature on the app, Tesco asked TikTok users to repeat the prompt in their best accent to win the chance of being heard across the country AND 10,000 Clubcard points which is £100. My brain can’t even fathom how many meal deals that is – I’m shook.

Tesco has been inactive on TikTok for ages but now it’s back and gaining loads of followers thanks to this new challenge. Auditions for Tesco’s self-service checkout have been rolling in thick and fast. Tesco’s video has 3.9 million views and thousands of likes and comments.

One girl who auditioned farted during it and if she doesn’t get the job I will be personally fuming.

A lot of people say the current voice sounds like Noel Fielding from the Great British Bake Off – pretty iconic. If you’re keen to win then you have until 5th October to enter via duetting on TikTok.
