Just three years on, this is what the cast of Love Island 2019 are up to now
I am still weeping at Tommy and Molly-Mae’s pregnancy announcement
After Molly-Mae and Tommy’s pregnancy news, Love Island has proven once again that love can truly be found on the show. There were a fair few success stories to come out season five in 2019 but they ended up splitting up except for Tommy and Molly who continue to go from strength to strength. Aside from public relationships and even more public breakups, what are the 2019 cast of Love Island up to now?
Molly-Mae Hague
Molly-Mae has not known rest since she placed second in the Love Island competition. After leaving the show she partnered with Pretty Little Thing and immediately became the new face of their brand. In August 2021, she announced she would be starting her new role as creative director for PLT, after signing a seven figure deal with the brand. In January 2022, Molly made headlines after saying in podcast everyone has the same 24 hours in a day. In June 2022, the Love Island runner-up published her first book titled Becoming Molly-Mae.
One piece of news nobody can seem to hide their excitement about is the announcement of her pregnancy. In a wholesome Instagram video, Tommy and Molly announced they were expecting their first child.
Tommy Fury
Tommy Fury came second place alongside his girlfriend Molly-Mae on the 2019 show and as well as announcing he and Molly are expecting their first child together, Tommy has also been up to a lot. Since the show, Tommy has focused on his professional boxing career. In April 2022, he defeated Daniel Bocianski after six rounds. One drama fans can’t seem to stop following his the ongoing beef between Tommy and Jake Paul. The two continue to make petty digs at one another on social media, but they haven’t actually fought one another yet.
Recently, Tommy said he would be proposing to Molly-Mae soon. With this pregnancy announcement, it’s only a matter of time!
Amber Gill
Love Island winner Amber Gill has truly been living her best life since 2019 and as she should! A month after winning the show, Amber landed a £1 million deal with MissPap, becoming a millionaire only weeks after appearing on the show. In December 2019, Amber teamed up with her fellow Islanders Yewande Biala and Anna Vakili and the trio launched their own podcast Reality Check.
More recently, Amber released her first novel called Until I Met You and her latest reality TV stint has been on Channel 4’s Celebrity SAS.
Greg O’Shea
Greg won the show with Amber and everyone is always baffled as to how he managed to pull it off after just days in the villa. He and Amber left the show in a relationship but split up every quickly after. Since 2019, Greg has gone on to do some pretty interesting things. In 2020, he competed on behalf of Ireland in the Summer Olympics in Tokyo and he has also joined a top law firm in Dublin. Oh, and he went bleach blonde for a brief period.
India Reynolds
India managed to work her way into the finals and left the show with everybody’s favourite Islander, Ovie. She didn’t make much of a splash after leaving Love Island as she was already and established influencer before starring on the show. Nowadays, India works as a fashion designer for the Revr Collective as well as producing her own lingerie line with Pour Moi.
Ovie Soko
One of the best contestants to ever grace Love Island is Ovie Soko. He entered as a Casa Amor boy and came third place with India Reynolds. Since leaving the villa, Ovie has continued with his basketball career and signed with the London Lions for the British BBL in July 2022. There is still hope as Ovie is reportedly still single since his split with India. Ovie said he had “zero regrets” about going on Love Island three years on.
Maura Higgins
Maura is one of the most successful Islanders from her season of the show and is truly the bombshell of all bombshells. Maura left the show with Curtis Pritchard but the two broke up just seven months after the show. Maura hasn’t left reality TV behind her as she went on to start on Dancing On Ice, Glow Up Ireland and Cooking with the Stars. In 2021, Maura partnered with Ann Summer and released her own lingerie line. She is now living her best life jet setting across the world and was recently in Paris.
Curtis Pritchard
Curtis Pritchard was quite the character on Love Island 2019. From breaking Amy’s heart to wanting to make coffee for everyone in the morning, there was never a dull moment. Following his rise to fame on the show, Curtis starred alongside his brother AJ on Hollyoaks and it was… something. He has continued dancing and even launched his own TV and live entertainment production company with his brother. Most recently he starred alongside his brother on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.
Amy Hart
Amy Hart won the hearts of the nation after her iconic line “I was coming here to tell you I loved you” on Love Island. In 2020, Amy went on Celebs Go Dating in hopes of finding the right man for her but lockdown made it difficult for her to stay in touch with someone she met on the show. Amy then launched her career on the West End as a producer and even starred in a pantomime in Hampshire in 2021.
In August 2021, Amy went public with her relationship with entrepreneur Sam Rason and she recently announced they were both expecting their first child together.
Yewande Biala
Scientist Yewande may have been unlucky in love in the villa but she has not let that stop her from reaching every point of success. According to reports, Yewande is currently single and in June 2022, she announced she would be publishing her own book! The thought-provoking book is called Reclaiming: Essays On Finding Yourself One Piece at a Time and in July 2022 it was published.
Anna Vakili
Anna Vakili was an icon on Love Island. Since leaving the show, she has kept her love life out of the public eye. In 2020, Anna announced she would be returning to her day job as a pharmacist in order to help with the Covid-19 pandemic. She currently co-hosts a podcast with her sister Mandi called Sisters in the City.
Jordan Hames
Jordan is a season five Islander who has had the biggest transformation since leaving the villa and that is simply just down to his fashion sense. Jordan ditched the skinny jeans and is now a TikTok girly’s dream. He has worked with some major fashion brands including JD, Tom Ford and Dr Martens. Living the dream!
Anton Danyluk
Anton is another Island who has undergone a massive transformation, so much so he is almost unrecognisable. Anton now lives in Dubai and has begun his journey in bodybuilding and he is RIPPED. The former Islander now has his own fitness business where he helps men and women “transform their bodies while enjoying the foods they love”.
Belle Hassan
Belle Hassan gave us queen bee energy when she stepped in the villa and her ripping Anton to shreds will forever live rent free in my mind. After leaving the villa, Belle put even more effort into her makeup brand and set up her own YouTube channel. She currently goes live on her Instagram every Monday, showing off new makeup looks. Perfection.
Michael Griffiths
Michael was partnered with Amber Gill for most of the season but his childish ways saw her patience wear thin. Michael is now a fitness trainer and is a presenter for the NFL UK with MTV. He also takes part in bodybuilding competitions with the PCA and to be fair to him, he is killing it.
Lucie Donlan
Lucie Donlan was an Islander no one was too sure on but everyone can agree she always rocked those blonde curls. Nowadays she is a free surfer in Cornwall as well as an ambassador for Havainas Europe. In December 2021, she announced she was engaged with Winter Love Island contestant Luke Mabbott. It’s all very wholesome.
