MAFS Australia’s Martha and Michael announce they’re expecting a baby
‘We are so excited, it was a complete surprise’
Lydia VennMarried at First Sight Australia’s Martha Kalifatidis has announced she is pregnant and expecting her first baby with fiancé Michael Brunelli.
Martha and Michael, who first got together during the 2019 series of MAFS, posted a video on Instagram earlier today where they explained why they had been offline for a while.
They said Martha was pregnant and whilst they were super happy, it had not been the easiest few months.
Michael said: “We wanted to explain our situation and make a little bit of an announcement. Martha is pregnant.”
Martha went onto say: “It hasn’t been this exciting, wonderful time for us. I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining. We are so excited, we are so happy, it was a complete surprise.”

Martha went onto explain she was suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum which is a type of severe morning sickness.
“But at five weeks I was diagnosed with Hyperemesis Gravidarum, which is severe chronic nausea and vomiting with no relief. It is 24-7. I literally didn’t get out of bed for two months.”
She said she lost 10 kilos in five weeks and was in and out of hospital but is now on medication which is helping her feel better.
Michael went onto explain it was too early to tell anyone the news and so they went offline for a few months, but wanted to thank everyone who had reached out to them.
The couple has been together since season six of Married at First Sight Australia in 2019 and at the end of last year they announced their engagement.
They currently live in Bondi and since the show ended Martha has appeared in The Celebrity Apprentice and worked with PrettyLittleThing.
