Club deletes post accusing Ekin-Su of cancelling appearance to make more money elsewhere
Ekin-Su told The Tab she pulled out due to other commitments, not for financial reasons
A nightclub has deleted a post that accused Ekin-Su of pulling out of her upcoming club appearance because she is “getting crazy money offers from other massive companies and increased TV commitments”.
A spokesperson for Ekin-Su told The Tab club appearances “can be lucrative” and she pulled out due to other commitments, not for financial reasons.
Since deleting the post, PRYZM Leeds has apologised and is offering ticket refunds for the event scheduled next Monday.
In the now-deleted post on PRYZM Leeds’ Facebook page, it also labelled Danica, Adam and Billy, who were apparently offered to the club as replacements for Ekin-Su, as people “no one cares about 🤷🏽♂️”.
The club has now said: “We would not wish to upset any members of Love Island as we know how much they are loved.”
Speaking to The Tab, Ekin-Su’s management said her decision to pull out wasn’t a financial one and she has increased contractual obligations to ITV as the winner of the show.
In the post, which has now been deleted from PRYZM Leeds’ page, it said: “We have been informed by Ekin-Su’s team that due to her getting crazy money offers from lots of other massive companies and increased TV commitments they’ve cancelled all of her UK club appearances.
“We are as disappointed as you, and we’re even more disappointed the only replacements we’ve been offered are Danica, Adam or Billy.
“At Quids In, we only want to give you the best entertainment, so in our opinion it’s not worth replacing her with someone no one cares about 🤷🏽♂️.”
The post was met with criticism by fans of the show as some labelled it “rude” and another describing it as “so harsh”.
Following the backlash, the club was quick to delete the post and issue an online apology instead. In that it said they wished to apologise for “the wording” of the post.
They went on to say: “PRZYM Leeds would like to wish Ekin-Su and all the other contestants the best in their future endeavours”. However, the apology was subsequently also deleted as some accused it of again being disrespectful towards Danica, Adam and Billy who weren’t mentioned in the apology.
A spokesperson for Ekin-Su told The Tab: “The financial side does not come into it, as PA’s can be lucrative. The reality is that the schedule of PA’s that had been arranged for Ekin-Su whilst she was in the Villa do not allow her to fulfil pre-existing contractual obligations owed to ITV as a winner of Love Island. Additionally Ekin-Su has filming commitments to also undertake.”
A spokesperson for PRYZM Leeds said: “We are truly sorry for this post which should never have been shared. These were not our words and we would not wish to upset any members of Love Island as we know how much they are loved.”
PRYZM Leeds are offering refunds to all ticket holders for next Monday’s Quids In. However the club says if you still wish to go to “the biggest Monday night party in the world, you’ll have a wicked time!”
