There are some extremely convincing theories this Stranger Things character is still alive
*Warning: Stranger Things four spoilers ahead*
Eddie Munson grew quickly to be a fan favourite in Stranger Things four – so yeah, his death hit pretty hard. But fans have come up with a few theories that are convincing and give us hope that says he might actually be alive after all. Here’s a rundown of all the theories suggesting Eddie Munson is alive and wasn’t brutally killed by the demobats in Stranger Things four.
The Duffer brothers literally said demobats can’t kill
So you know in episode six when Robin is fearful Steve might catch rabies after being bitten by a bunch of demobats? Well Ross Duffer confirmed demobats can’t actually kill. Speaking to Variety he said demobat rabies doesn’t exist. He said: “I wouldn’t worry about the bat thing. That’s more my thing. I have this thing. I’m worried about bats. That was just me, I was just fixating on bats the moment I wrote that.”
Another fan theory is that Eddie could be alive return as a vampire in the next Stranger Things season. And I don’t think that’s even a strech. They literally wrote in Eleven having the power to bring people back to life so this doesn’t seem wild.
In an interview with Radio Times, Joseph Quinn who plays Eddie says he and Joe Keery were discussing ways in which Eddie could come back. He said: “Maybe I’d be a figment of Gaten’s imagination or something like that if there could be some room for something a bit supernatural.” I’m all for it, bring back our king!
Another person picked up on the fact Eddie had a tattoo of bats on his arm which we saw early on in volume one. They suggested he might be the new bat king and become part of the Upside Down like Vecna did.
If Hopper can survive season three, Eddie can survive demobat bites – end of.
