This is where the three women from The Tinder Swindler on Netflix are now

The true crime documentary everyone is talking about right now is The Tinder Swindler – which tells the story of the women who were conned out of millions by Simon Leviev. He posed as a billionaire heir on the app and used this to con women all over the world.

The conman, real name Shimon Hayut, claimed he was the son of billionaire Russian-Israeli diamond mogul, Lev Leviev. He called himself the “Prince of Diamonds” and lured the women to open up huge lines of credit which he would use to fund his lavish and luxury lifestyle. He would say he needed cash as threats had been made against him and his life depended on it and would then disappear.

He was captured in 2019 thanks to the women, but still no charges were made against him regarding what he did to them. Simon Leviev is now a free man, and the Netflix documentary reveals the three women are still paying off the debts they have as a result of what happened. Here’s the latest updates on where the three women featured in Netflix documentary film The Tinder Swindler are now.

Cecilie Fjellhoy

Cecilie is the first of the women who fell victim to The Tinder Swindler we see in the Netflix documentary, and is said to be still paying off her debts from him now. Cecilie is Finnish, but lived in London when she was scammed out of around £250k by Simon Leviev.

Today, Cecilie continues to live in London where she works as a senior UX designer at Sopra Steria – a Paris-based software development company. She is also the founder of action:reaction, a non-profit organisation which aims to support victims of fraud and campaigns to change legislation to ensure victims get the right help. She has become a public speaker on fraud and tells her story.

Speaking to Newsweek, the director of The Tinder Swindler said: “Well, they’re [the three women] just carrying on really. Cecilie has had to declare herself bankrupt. So they’re still fighting their cases in various courts trying to get the fines against them taken away and trying to get courts to understand that they were basically victims, of coercive control.”

The Netflix documentary adds that she is single at the moment, but back on Tinder looking for love. Cecilie has just over 8k Instagram followers, and on her account she shares a lot about her journey and updates from the case. Her handle is @cecilie_.

Pernilla Sjoholm

Next in the film we are introduced to Pernilla Sjoholm, who wasn’t romantically involved with Leviev, but became very close friends with him. She is still paying off the debt she accumulated from their friendship. Now, she is living in Sweden and works in sales and marketing at a high-end coffee distributor.

She too has around 8k Instagram followers, and posts loads of gorgeous pictures of herself around Stockholm. Her handle is @pernillaelisabeths.

One good thing to come out of the entire story is that Cecilie and Pernilla remain besties to this day. Their Instagrams are filled with pictures of them together – including a holiday they took to Mykonos, Greece in 2021. Cecilie and Pernilla also appeared on Lorraine together, to talk about the release of The Tinder Swindler on Netflix.

Ayleen Charlotte

Ayleen Charlotte is from Amsterdam and says in the film she works in the luxury fashion industry. It was her who finally swindled The Tinder Swindler. The Netflix documentary says she is still paying off her debts, but we saw her getting some of her money back selling off his designer clothes. Not a lot else is known about what she is up to today and it doesn’t appear that Ayleen has social media.
