Meet Jake Cornish: This year’s Love Islander with a major foot fetish and fun nickname

After nearly two years away Love Island is back in our lives and returns to screen tonight. There’s 11 new Islanders including 24-year-old water engineer Jake Cornish. Jake was the sixth Islander to be announced amongst a lineup that includes a PE teacher, an ex-glamour model and an estate agent.

Love Island 2021 will be airing from 28th June at 9pm with Laura Whitmore hosting and Iain Stirling returning as the classic voice over. Until the show airs, this is everything you need to know about Jake:

Jake has 15,000 followers on Instagram

Jake has been steadily amassing followers since he was announced as one of this year’s Love Islanders and he’s now on 15,000. Jake’s Instagram is pretty typical lad vibes. It features pictures of him with his mates, trips to Ibiza and of course the obligatory gym selfie.

His first Instagram post was all the way back in 2013 and features a much younger looking Jake and his friend. Jake’s Instagram handle is @jakecornish7.

He was in a relationship for seven years before Love Island

It’s not uncommon for Islanders to enter Love Island after a pretty series relationship, and Jake is one of them. He was in a relationship for seven years before the pandemic hit however he and his ex broke up around that time and he’s been single ever since.

Jake is a water engineer

Jake describes himself as a water engineer in his Love Island profile and says he’s a “jack of all trades”. He said: “I’m basically a handyman, a jack of all trades just not electrics! I don’t go near electric.”

His nickname is ‘Tigger’

Yes as in Winnie The Pooh. Jake revealed he’s called ‘Tigger’ by his friends and family for all the energy he has. He said: “My family would say I’m the one who is always up for a laugh, always having fun. I don’t take anything seriously. The prankster! My nickname is Tigger from Winnie the Pooh because I’m always bouncing all over the place. I’ve always got so much energy.”

Jake has a foot fetish

When asked to describe his ideal type Jake said the woman has to have small feet as he has a foot fetish. He said: “My type, all I ask for is blonde, blue eyes, little feet, because I have a massive foot fetish.” Jake also said one of the major things he looks for is trust as he’s received messages from women who have partners.

He said: “I’ve had messages from girls that have got boyfriends and husbands. This is why I don’t trust anyone. [I want] someone who is loyal really. But when I’m single, I like having a good time!”
