Meet the husbands and partners of the Queer Eye Fab Five

The latest series of Queer Eye is now on Netflix. So that means getting prepared to cry as the Fab Five transform people’s lives and make us all believe the world is an ok place after all. But have you ever sat back and watched the show and wondered what the Fab Five’s lives are like? Who are the partners of our fav Queer Eye icons? Where do they all live? How did they meet?

It’s time to meet all the partners of the Fab Five on Netflix’s Queer Eye. Be prepared to love them all even more, if that’s possible.

Tan France and Rob France

British fashion expert, Tan France, married his husband Rob France in 2013. They met in 2008 on a dating site, and had previously been in a long distance relationship. But now, the pair live together in Utah. Rob is a paediatric nurse and illustrator from Wyoming, USA.

On the side of his nursing work, Rob has an Instagram account to showcase his illustrations (@robfranceillustration), which is verified with over 100k followers. Rob has said him and Tan share very similar interests – both are passionate about fashion. Rob was raised a Mormon and in Tan’s book, Naturally Tan, Tan calls him his “Mormon cowboy”. In an interview with The Mirror, Tan revealed it was his husband who pushed him to do Queer Eye, even though he wanted to turn it down.

In April 2021, the pair announced they were expecting their first baby via surrogate. In August of the same year, they announced they had welcomed a little boy into their family. Their son Ismail France had been born on 10th July. “Give our son a warm welcome. He came seven weeks early, so he’s been in the NICU [newborn intensive care unit] for the past 3 weeks,” France posted on Instagram.

Antoni Porowski and Kevin Harrington

Antoni made it official with his boyfriend, Kevin Harrington, at Halloween in 2019. They dressed as Blockbuster employees back from the dead when they went to Bette Midler and Heidi Klum’s Halloween parties. Kevin is a New York based advertising executive, working for Johannes Leonardo as a Strategy Director. He was born in NY, but only recently returned to the US after working in Australia and New Zealand.

The couple share quite a few cute snaps of them celebrating events together and going away. We might learn even more about them as a couple, because Antoni is currently developing a Netflix rom-com loosely based on his dating life.

Bobby Berk and Dewey Do

Bobby and his husband Dewey have been married for nearly 10 years and together for around 14. They currently live together in LA and Dewey works as a maxillofacial surgeon. According to People magazine, Bobby and his husband live in a converted train station – which is so Bobby it actually hurts.

Right now the pair do not share any children, but in an interview with People Bobby said that’s definitely in their “five year plan”.

Karamo Brown

Karamo Brown split from his fiancé, Ian Jordan, in 2020 after having been together for around 10 years. The couple planned to tie the knot in the summer of 2020, but it was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Karamo later revealed the wedding was completely off. “We were distracted by so much – with the kids, and our careers – that during that time, I had to really say, ‘How is our communication? How are other parts of our lives? Are we growing in the same place?'”, he said.

“We’re not 20 anymore, so it wasn’t just, ‘Oh, I’m not going to text you anymore’ — it was like, we have a family and a home,” he continued. “How do we separate this? And it was hard. We went to virtual counselling, we did a lot of things. But eventually I was like, this is a moment where I need to decide, is my happiness important? And once I made that decision, I said, you know, we are going to have to break up.”

The pair said they remain friends. They reportedly met in late 2010 outside a nightclub in LA. It was Karamo who asked Ian to marry him, in May 2018. Karamo Brown is father to sons Jason and Chris, who are both in their twenties.

Jonathan Van Ness and Mark Peacock

In January 2021, Jonathan Van Ness revealed he is married to Mark Peacock. On his podcast, Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness, he said they are best friends, and got married during quarantine in the pandemic. On Twitter he added: “Surprise! We got married in the backyard of a house we rented over the summer with a socially distanced judge and a photographer. Our parents watched over FaceTime. Love my Mark and we’re so happy to share this news.”

Mark is from the UK and grew up in Essex. He’s worked as a model and was even on the cover of Men’s Health UK once. He now works at a creative event production agency. Jonathan and Mark met in London in 2019.
