  • Lucy is the Editor-in-Chief of The Leeds Tab. She oversees the writers and editors as well as commissioning, writing and editing articles herself, uncovering everything from campus controversies to breaking news stories.
  • Lucy is especially interested in investigative journalism, conducting in-depth interviews that explore the undercurrents of student life. She specialises in human-interest stories, delving into complex or contentious issues within higher education.
  • Outside of journalism, Lucy works in nurseries as an Early Years Educator and volunteers as a Crisis Counsellor for a mental health charity. She loves running and reading, and spends her weekends in book shops or exploring new corners of the city to find inspiration for her next piece.

Experience

Lucy joined The Tab in 2024. She was its News Editor last year, before moving up to her current position as Editor-in-Chief. Her stories have been picked up by local and national outlets, and she has written investigative articles for Australian publications. She also has a book review column at another student magazine in Leeds.

Education

Lucy is doing a Master's in Journalism at Leeds Trinity University. She studied English Literature with Creative Writing at the University of Leeds, and completed an exchange year at Monash University in Melbourne during her third year.
