‘No signs of trauma’: Coroner shares update after Hayden Panettiere’s autopsy is completed

Hayden Panettiere’s newly released coroner’s findings have revealed that the Heroes and Nashville star suffered cardiac arrest before she died aged 36.

Panettiere died on Sunday in Greenville, South Carolina, with the latest report from the Greenville County Coroner’s Office providing new details about the circumstances surrounding her death.
According to the coroner, emergency crews treated Panettiere after she was found in “cardiac arrest”. Her autopsy showed “no signs of trauma”.
In a statement released on Monday, the coroner’s office said: “An autopsy was completed today. At autopsy no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death.”
The coroner said “advanced cardiac life support measures” were carried out after responders arrived, but “resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and the individual was pronounced deceased at 2:32 PM”.
They added: “The cause and manner of death remain pending further investigation and the completion of additional studies.
Police had previously been called to the property in the afternoon, following a report of an unresponsive woman.
The Greenville Police Department said: “Upon arrival, medical assistance was administered; however, the individual, later identified as Hayden Panettiere, was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
Officers also said: “The preliminary investigation has not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances. An acquaintance of Ms. Panettiere placed the 911 call.”

Her death was announced by her father, Skip Panettiere, who said: “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden.
“She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her and to the millions who watched her onscreen.”
Her father also asked for privacy “as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss”.
