Tragic update on Perez Hilton, and the one question he’s asking amidst ‘lifelong disfigurement’

Perez Hilton is still in hospital following his graphic livestream, with family members earlier detailing how he is facing “lifelong disfigurement”. 

“Perez knows that something happened and he knows that things aren’t good right now,” a friend recently said. “But he doesn’t have a lot of presence of mind. He’s not able to fully process what happened.”

It all came after the now-viral livestream where he was seemingly self-harming in front of four other influencers and the general public. It sparked numerous 911 calls, and he was rushed to the hospital for treatment. 

There have been a few updates over the last couple of days. 

His family shared the brutal reality of his support

In a new report in the Daily Mail, friends and family shared some insight into Perez Hilton’s state of mind right now. They admitted to lying to him, saying, “Your friends are all in your corner.” In reality, no one besides family has gone to visit the gossip columnist. 

“All the ones he wanted to reach out, all the celebrities who he has mended fences with, all the ones who said he’s their friend. None of them are doing anything,” a family friend said. “He’s about to find out who his real friends are.”

He’s reportedly asked about his friends and their support, but his family can’t tell him the truth. 

“We don’t even know how to break this news to him, he’ll be crushed,” the family friend said. “It’s sad really, how little people are rallying behind him. People who have told him they love him, but where are they?”

In the article, the Daily Mail listed several celebs who have shown support for Perez in the past, like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Adele, as well as celebs he squashed beef with, like Britney Spears and Khloe Kardashian. None have spoken out, and the one who did quickly retracted the statement. 

Apparently, he’s recieved no cards, no flowers, and no visitors in the hospital.

His website is up and running again 

Though Perez is still in hospital and he doesn’t have access to his social media or business accounts, his website started posting articles again earlier this week. The decision was made by his family, largely because it’s one of Perez’s online sources of income. 

“It won’t be mean, it won’t be calling people out, but there is celebrity news happening and people are used to going to his site to read about it,” they said.

In an update over the weekend, his family confirmed that he’s still in hospital. Now, he’s receiving around-the-clock care in inpatient treatment. 

His family announced on his blog: “To everyone who has reached out, checked in, and kept Perez and our family in your thoughts, THANK YOU!

“At this time, Perez remains hospitalised and is receiving the medical care he needs. His treatment is continuing in an inpatient setting under the care of a dedicated team of medical and mental health professionals. For now, Perez’s health remains the priority as his team keeps the site active and moving forward.”

It’s looking like a long recovery for Perez, with family saying it could take months.
