Here’s exactly how to do the AI polaroid trend all over social media right now
It’s such a vibe
There’s a new trend right now with AI that people are using to make such a vibey picture of themselves. I felt so boomer when I first saw this trend, because TWICE I thought it was real. How embarrassing. I’m either old or AI is getting too good. First of all I saw a fan put a picture of him with Ariana Grande and I literally thought it was the best meet and greet image I’ve ever seen. Secondly I saw a mate of mine holding a baby and I thought it was a family member and extremely cute. It’s only after I saw another mate put a picture of himself up with a younger version of himself that I realised what was happening. Here’s how to do the AI trend of making a polaroid against a white curtain right now – in the easiest and free method.
What actually is the trend?
The trend is basically people using AI to edit a pic of themselves to look like a polaroid against a white curtain. People are using it for all kinds of different reasons, but a popular one is them hugging their younger selves. Here’s one of me now hugging me aged about five. It’s super sweet.
You can use it as just an edit or to do that trend. Here’s how to make your own AI polaroid trend pic!
The simplest way to do it:
There are numerous AI methods you can do to create this, but the simplest (and free) way is to use Google Gemini and attach the photos and put in this exact prompt:
Most Read
“Make me a picture with a polaroid camera. The photo should look like a regular photo, with any clear subject or property. The photo should have a slight blur effect and a consistent light source, such as a flash from a dark room, scattered through the photo. Do no change the face of the people in the images. Replace background of the two photos with a white curtain. Hugging.”
However, one thing to note is that Google Gemini has safeguarding guidelines in place for obvious reasons that might block you from doing the younger you trend. This is because it can’t verify age – and sometimes it let me upload two pictures and merge them into a new image but since I tried that at first it has blocked me from creating anymore. It’s against the AI guidelines to edit the face.
Make sure if you’re to do this trend you do it with the consent of anyone you want to be in it with you. Do not add random people you don’t know – because that’s literally weird. It goes without saying that even public figures (like female pop stars) deserve to have ownership of where their face is used and if it’s a doctored image it’s all the dangers of AI summed up.
The second image you see here is your safest bet to do just one image of you with a friend and let the edit do the work!
