People have been left with even more questions after watching Netflix’s Unknown Number: The High School Catfish, as some things just “don’t add up”.
The true story is about a Michigan teenager Lauryn Licari, who shockingly gets catfished by her own mum, Kendra. She bombarded her daughter with thousands of messages from a random number over a year and a half.
Unknown Number has left everyone completely speechless, but some people are convinced there’s more to the story because some parts that don’t make sense.

How did Kendra take the Christmas party photo from inside Owen’s house?
The first thing that doesn’t make much sense is the Christmas party photo. Kendra sent Lauryn a photo of Owen in his own house, taken at his Christmas party after they had broken up. His mum Jill claimed only close family were invited, so she couldn’t have been at the party. One theory is that the image was shared on Facebook and Kendra saved it from there, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
And how did she get Owen’s new girlfriend and her mum’s phone numbers?
Another thing that’s left people confused after watching The High School Catfish is how Kendra managed to get everyone’s phone numbers. She probably went through Lauryn’s phone to get some of them, but what about Owen’s new girlfriend and her mum? Surely she wouldn’t have had those saved in her contacts.

The documentary says Lauryn and Owen were sent texts from a Florida area code while Khloe Wilson and her family were away there for Spring Break, making Khloe seem like the catfish. To public knowledge, Kendra was at her home in Beal City, Michigan the whole time.
