A deep dive into Tommy Fury and Tyson’s relationship, and whether they’re actually close
There are 11 years between them
After his new Amazon Prime documentary, getting back with Molly-Mae and a rumoured fight with Darren Till, Tommy Fury is literally everywhere right now, so it’s time to have a look at his relationship with Tyson Fury.
Everyone knows that Tommy and Tyson are related, but how close actually are they? Here’s a deep dive into their relationship from childhood up to now.
Tommy and Tyson Fury are half brothers
In case you still don’t understand how the pair are related, Tommy and Tyson are half brothers. They have the same dad, John Fury, but different mums.
Tommy’s Mum is Chantal, and he has one full brother called Roman. Tyson’s mum is John’s ex wife Amber. John and Amber also have three other kids, John Jr., Hugh and Shane.
They didn’t live in the same house as kids, but were both raised in Manchester and were always together in the boxing gym. So, they’ve always got on well and been close.
However, Tommy and Tyson do have an 11 year age gap between them, so Tommy has always been closer to his full brother Roman, who is 28.

Tyson was Tommy’s role model growing up
Tyson had already started his boxing career when the Love Islander was growing up, and he saw him as a huge role model.
“I grew up watching my brother Tyson working hard and becoming as successful as he is. I was the kid that was just lurking around in the gym and no one expected much of me really. But I have always loved boxing, had real determination and wouldn’t take no for an answer,” he told the BBC.

“Tyson’s career definitely motivated me to get into boxing and seeing him do as well as he’s done. I love to train anyway. I love to box; I think it’s just in me to do it. My dad had a great saying when I was younger. He always said, “what’s in you will come out of you”. And I think it’s in me to fight. It’s in my blood.”
But he never wanted to just be ‘Tyson’s brother’
However, while Tyson has always been a massive part of Tommy’s boxing career, and has always helped him train, Tommy wanted to be seen as his own person.
“I’m my own man and I’ve said it throughout my whole boxing career,” Tommy said before going onto Love Island. “I don’t want to be labelled as his little brother, I’m my own man and I’m doing the best that I can do in life and that’s all I’m setting out to achieve.”

Tyson is really proud of Tommy’s boxing career
After the KSI fight, which he helped Tommy train for, Tyson said he was “very proud” of his little brother.
“The fact that Tommy’s made £10m for this fight he’s 24 years old, he’s probably made £26m from his 10-fight career, it’s unbelievable,” he said in an interview with The MMA Hour.
“I’m very, very proud of where he’s come from. In 2018 Tommy didn’t have £10 for a bus pass, today he’s got a hell of a lot of money so I’m very proud of him. He can buy what he wants. He’s got a £5m mansion, G-Wagons, Lambos, Rolexes, the guy’s flying.”
They’ve got a lot closer as parents
When they were growing up, it was all about boxing, but Tommy and Tyson have got a lot closer in their personal lives since having kids.
After Tommy welcomed Bambi with Molly-Mae, they’ve gone on holidays with Tyson, Paris and their seven children, most recently to the Isle of Man.
