Tommy Fury’s dad has one heartbreaking rule for him and Bambi, and it’s causing drama
It seems really harsh
Tommy Fury’s dad John banned him from seeing his daughter Bambi on Christmas Day in Tommy’s new documentary, The Good, The Bad, The Fury.
Basically, John, who is also Tyson Fury’s dad, told Tommy he didn’t want any “distractions” ahead of his fight. He said a Christmas reunion with Molly-Mae and their two-year-old daughter would interfere with Tommy’s training and mindset… ouch.

John said: “The thing we don’t want is distractions. People coming. We don’t want it. Because when you’re here and you’re talking to people you’re not resting. You want to be training, eat, drink, sleep, train, repeat. It’s six weeks of hell but you’ve got another four to six weeks to go and to do the other stuff, haven’t you? All that’s out there is the pub, alcohol, s*** food and s*** company.”

Tommy replied that he trains all the time anyway and doesn’t do anything else.
John said, “I don’t know, Tom. You do enjoy yourself, don’t you?” to which Tommy replied, “Not really.” John added, “If you can’t sacrifice six weeks of your time without your children, all that s*** in the world outside. What we doing here?” Brutal.
Tommy argued that spending 20 minutes with Bambi on Christmas wouldn’t affect his fight, saying: “I can’t see, on Christmas Day, me picking the baby, me saying ‘Merry Christmas,’ I can’t see that going to lead me to win a fight or not.”
John insisted sacrifices were necessary for success.

“You go back, you have your Christmas, you hold the baby, all of a sudden you get an L on your record for that day. You will never look at them in the same light again, family or not family because you’ll resent them. The greats don’t do it.”
It all sounds pretty extreme when you step back. Like, the idea that a five-minute hug could derail your entire record or turn you into a resentful monster? That’s some next-level discipline, or paranoia.
Either way, it feels less like advice and more like a personal manifesto taken to the absolute max.
Tommy later said his dad is “old school” and doesn’t really understand the modern world.
