Police detain three people as TikToker found shot dead in her car over ‘demands for payment’

‘Close range’ shots came from a motorcycle

Three people have been detained after a TikTok star was found shot and killed in her car. 28-year-old Ayesha Gilamana, real name Shamsu Bibi, had over 1.3million followers. She also had 176k YouTube subscribers.

It has been reported she was shot and killed by two gunmen, who have both been arrested, and a third arrest was for an associate of the two others. The two gunmen had opened fire at the car she had been driving. The incident happened in Taxila city, near the Pakistan capital Islamabad.

According to reports, Ayesha had left home on August 14th, with her 15-year-old sister and her brother. Then, she had been driving near a gas station when two men on a motorcycle pulled up alongside the car. The passenger allegedly opened fire, and struck her in the neck. Ayesha then lost control of the vehicle, and it collided with a passing dump truck.

An alleged surveillance video circulating on social media appears to show two men on a motorcycle intercepting a car being driven by Ayesha, before pulling out a pistol and firing at the vehicle from a close range. Ayesha died at the scene, while her sister was seriously injured. She has been taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad.

It’s been reported her brother Niamatullah said the incident happened amid alleged financial disputes. The family has said the day she died, Ayesha had received a phone call from a man, who asked her to leave quickly. This was when she then left in her car.

Ayesha’s father has alleged that his daughter had received death threats over demands for repayment of money from two men, and had “strong reason to believe” that either of the individuals were behind her death.

Her family has said it deleted her TikTok account after her death, while her YouTube page could no longer be found.

The police are yet to confirm the identity of any suspects, or any alleged motives.
