TikToker sentenced after killing millionaire uncle by hitting him with Jeep at Florida mansion

A TikToker has been sentenced to 10 years in jail after killing his millionaire uncle by ramming into him with his Jeep.

Jordan Aronson, 24, pleaded guilty to manslaughter for the horrific incident, which happened at his uncle’s home in Florida on 13th June 2023. Aronson had been living with his 59-year-old uncle Scott Grebler, a millionaire philanthropist and non-profit founder, at his $3 million home in Tampa, Florida, when they got into a verbal argument.

CCTV footage showed that during the argument, the TikToker got into his Jeep Wrangler and drove into his uncle. At the plea hearing, Assistant State Attorney Melissa Grajales said Aronson was “caught on surveillance footage backing out of the driveway and speeding forward, ramming [Grebler’s] body into the palm tree,” the Tampa Bay Times reports.

After the incident, Aronson told police his uncle had Parkinson’s disease and suffered from delusions and hallucinations. He also claimed that morning, his uncle had accused him of stealing money and become violent. Aronson claimed Grebler had been stalking him for hours and throwing rocks at the Jeep’s windscreen.

Surveillance footage showed the uncle throwing a ceramic mug on the driveway, then putting the shards under his nephew’s Jeep’s tyres. Court records say Grebler took Aronson’s bag out of the Jeep and followed him “in an apparent attempt to engage in a physical altercation”.

Someone who witnessed the incident found Grebler in a pool of blood and called 911, according to court documents. He was taken to hospital with injuries to his skull and brain and was put on a ventilator, but sadly died eight days later.

Aronson also called police and told the 911 dispatcher his uncle “tried to f***ing attack me when I was getting out of my car, and I hit him with my car”. He later told officers he drove back into the driveway to straighten his tyres, but police said video footage showed “the Jeep tyres are clearly not turned while parked”.

Aronson initially pleaded not guilty to a charge of second-degree murder. However, he agreed to a plea deal which reduced the charge to manslaughter. Following 10 years behind bars, he will be on probation for five years and must perform 50 hours of community service and complete an anger management course.

The 24-year-old had just finished his freshman year playing baseball at Lynn University. He has more than 52,000 followers on TikTok and another 23,000 on Instagram, where he posted baseball advice and workout videos.
