Charli XCX gets called a ‘pick me’ after revealing why she prefers using men’s bathrooms
It’s not just because there’s a shorter queue
A Rolling Stone interview clip where Charli XCX explains why she prefers the men’s bathroom has resurfaced, and people are not happy.

“I actually avoid the girls’ bathroom in clubs, I always just sneak into the men’s, because there’s no lines and there’s no drama,” she said.
“[There’s no] annoying, ‘Wah, he said that’, you know?”
The singer’s Brat album was a cultural phenomenon and defined summer of 2024, especially for the girls. But this 2024 interview clip is making some feel betrayed.
“What? The girls bathroom in clubs is where you make the most friends. just drunk and friendly,” said one X user.
“Pick me vibes don’t suit her at all,” said another.
Charli went on to explain that she’s not a fan of the girls’ bathroom chats that happen in most clubs.
“I just want to dance, I’m not really the person that’s having a deep conversation at a party,” she said.
The self-proclaimed 365 Party Girl has not kept her clubbing style secret – it’s no surprise she prefers to keep her bathroom trips as quick as possible, and make her way back to the dance floor. Still, this statement did not sit right with lots of people.
Some are now looking back on some of Charli’s most viral moments and debating on whether she’s always given off pick me energy. One tweet that has almost 200k likes gave a hot take on her outfit at Coachella:
“I don’t know why everyone is acting shocked about Charli being a pick me when this was literally her during Coachella,” the post said.

Although opinions are split over the controversial Coachella sash, Charli’s defenders are claiming this is a reach as she clarified it was a joke, and even got a playful response from Billy Joe Armstrong, who headlined Coachella.
The resurfaced interview clip comes after conversations about “pick me” girls were ignited by Sydney Sweeney’s most recent interview. She told The Wall Street Journal that it was “mainly girls” criticising her for her bath water soap collaboration with men’s grooming brand Dr. Squatch.
