It’s official: Love Island is returning for 2025 and the wait is nearly over

Girlies, assemble!

| UPDATED

The sun is out, suncream is on, and hay-fever pollen is in the air. Surely it can’t be long until Love Island is back on our screens?

Thankfully, the wait is nearly over. Here’s when Love Island is expected to be back.

When will Love Island be on again?

ITV confirmed in March that Love Island will be returning in summer 2025. What a relief. Season 12 of the show will kick off at 9pm on Monday 9th June. You’ll be able to watch it on ITV2 and ITVX.

Maya Jama will be the host again. This will be the regular edition of Love Island, with (mostly) non-famous people heading to the villa in Mallorca. The second season of Love Island: All Stars wrapped in February, and ITV seems to have given up on the traditional winter version of the show for now.

ITV has confirmed the show will once again run for eight whole glorious weeks. Since Love Island is starting on 9th June, it seems likely the finale will air on 4th August.

There will be a special reunion show with iconic cast members

Can you believe that Love Island has been in our lives for ten whole years? A special throwback documentary about Love Island will air before the 2025 series starts on Sunday 1st June, in celebration of the show’s tenth anniversary.

According to The Sun, iconic Islanders will watch back infamous moments of the show and spill some behind-the-scenes secrets. Loads of iconic Islanders have been confirmed, including *takes deep breath* Cara De La Hoyde-Massey and Nathan Massey, Millie Court and Liam Reardon, Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan and Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope, Hannah Elizabeth, Gabby Allen, Montana Brown, Dani Dyer, Georgia Steel, Curtis Pritchard, Anton Danyluk, Whitney Adebayo and Catherine Agbaje. What a line-up. I can’t wait.
