The real reason Lauren and Clint decided to boycott the MAFS Australia dinner party

This is all so messy

At the most recent MAFS Australia 2025 dinner party, couple Lauren and Clint decided to stay at home. This came after a messy couples’ retreat, in which Lauren had a huge fight with Jamie, that spilled out to the rest of the cast.

During the time away, Lauren and Clint attempted to leave the show altogether. Then, returning for a dinner party, they said they would rather stay at home and not meet up with everyone else. “Why would we put ourselves through another social scene?”, Lauren said on the show. “We are not interested in spending another minute of our life in a room with them.”

They said they were going to have a dinner party of their own in their apartment. Lauren added: “Absolutely no part of me wants to be at that dinner party. I’m sure Jamie will have her batteries fully charged ready to start screaming and yelling from the moment she sits down. I have absolutely no desire to ever be in a room with that little troll again.”

In an interview with Daily Mail Australia, Clint revealed the real reason behind himself and bride Lauren ditching the MAFS dinner party. He branded it a “circus” and went in on the show, and his fellow cast members.

“I remember sitting down at the first dinner party, and we’re like a minute in, and Loz and I looked at each other and said, ‘What the f*ck are we doing here?’,” Clint said. He revealed that soon after then, the couple realised the experiment environment really wasn’t for them. They hated the fighting and constant slinging matches with all the drama.

Clint went on: “It started to spiral downhill quickly. It was mainly Loz who wanted to leave at first, but I felt the same way about the dinner parties and then the retreat.” He then explained they tried to quit at the retreat – a decision that was mutual, but Lauren seemed to take most of the slack for.

Upon their return, Clint said he and Lauren still found group settings unbearable, so therefore had no interest in doing the MAFS Australia dinner party.

“I think most of the cast are actually decent people when they’re by themselves, but when they get together, I just couldn’t stand the environment,” he explained. “People yelling, being disrespectful, trying to get louder than the next person – I don’t like to hang out in places like that. I prefer a nice dinner with respectful conversation. I don’t mind a rational debate, but you can’t even get heard.”

He added: “I don’t need to be yelling and carrying on to get the limelight. I’m happy having a one-on-one or group conversation, but it has to be respectful.”

Ouch.
