Ominous ‘help’ messages carved into ground in LA mysteriously discovered on Google Maps

It’s currently unknown who etched the messages

Google Maps manages to provide imagery of almost every street and corner of the world, but a horrifying discovery has just been made and people can’t work out what it all means. A disturbing collection of messages saying “help” has been located in LA through the use of Google Maps.

The images on Google Maps depict a seemingly abandoned plot of LA land with “help” messages constructed out of old pipes and discarded wood seen in multiple places. The words “Traffico”, “LAPD” (Los Angeles Police Department) and “Federal” can also be seen.

The site where the messages have been located can be found in LA at the Union Pacific railroad yard, directly next to a shipping container yard and a known area for the homeless to pitch their tents.

Data from Living Atlas shows the messages have been there since August 15, 2024, if not earlier. Whilst the exact nature behind the messages is currently unknown, those online are concerned it may be from someone who is being human trafficked as LA is one of the top three entry points in the US for trafficking.

However, a Twitter user by the name, of LA Guy, spoke to those around the area who claimed the messages had been written by a man experiencing homelessness called José.

One woman claimed he has been experiencing homelessness for a while and “needs help”

Another woman in the area agreed, claiming the messages had been written by a man named José who was experiencing homelessness and needed ‘help himself’.

She added: “José’s the one who puts it all the time. He writes it everywhere, it’s been years.”

However this is still unconfirmed and as it stands whilst it’s confirmed the “help” messages in LA found on Google Maps are real, it’s unknown who wrote them or for what purpose.
