Here’s the status of Selling Sunset, and how the show has been affected by the LA wildfires
Jason confirmed ‘numerous’ Oppenheim Group homes have burned down
In the last week, the world has paused to keep up with the news of the ongoing wildfires in LA. As it stands, there have been at least 25 deaths from the fires, and hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated. Tens of thousands of homes and buildings have been affected. The cast of Selling Sunset initially spoke out about the LA wildfires, and now people are wondering if the tragedy has affected the show at all.
Chrishell Stause confirmed she had been evacuated from her home. She lives with partner G Flip in a $3.3million (£2.7million) mansion in the Hollywood Hills. The couple and their dog Gracie were evacuated on Thursday 9th January. She wrote on Instagram: “Immediate evacuation in my area. Me, G & Gracie are safe and out of the house.”
Brett Oppenheim also said he was evacuated, and had gone to twin brother Jason’s home. Mary updated her followers with images and videos of the fires that she could see from her garden. Other cast members also said they were prepping to evacuate, or were offering up their safer homes for people who needed it.
So, given the show is filmed so close to the LA wildfires, what’s actually happened with Selling Sunset? Here’s everything we know.

As news of the LA wildfires first became clear, Selling Sunset boss Jason Oppenheim shared updates on Instagram. “Fires in all directions. Already had two clients call me this morning because their houses burned down,” he said. “If you’re in an evacuation zone, just evacuate. We can rebuild houses, we can’t rebuild our loved ones.”
