Here’s how the Front Man found out about the tracker in Gi-hun’s tooth in Squid Game 2
It was given away by one sneaky character
If you’re like most people in the UK, you’ve probably already finished the entirety of Squid Game 2 and are dying for more. Luckily for you, Squid Game had the most plot holes, easter eggs and hidden meanings of literally any Netflix show ever, which is more than enough to keep us entertained until season three. One huge mystery in Squid Game 2 was how the Front Man knew about the tracker in Gi-hun’s tooth, which seemed like an impossible mission. Spoilers ahead, you’ve been warned!
One of the biggest plot twists in Squid Game 2 is of course the Captain Park being a traitor and working with the Squid Game creators. After this shocking revelation at the end, we realise it’s no surprise why detective Jun-ho hasn’t found the Squid Game island after all these years. But what you might have forgotten is that when the gang began their expedition to find Gi-hun who was again trapped in the games, some of Jun-ho’s crew let him in on a very important secret that would change the direction of the series.
Just before the gang set sail (and after the captain puts it off due to bad weather claims), the captain finds out that Gi-hun is being tracked after Woo-seok flat-out tells him. The captain implies that Jun-ho has filled him in on everything, even though that’s not true. Woo-seok is led to trust Captain Park because of this and tells him about the chip in Gi-hun’s tooth at this very moment. Boom. Plan ruined. Story forever changed.

If Captain Park is the traitor we know him to be, it’s almost definite that he’s the reason the game creators knew about Gi-hun’s tracker in his tooth. Thanks a lot Woo-seok.
I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for these easter eggs in Squid Game 3 this year.
