The creepy 262 word ‘manifesto’ found on CEO murder suspect Luigi Mangione
‘These parasites had it coming’
On Monday, Luigi Mangione was arrested and charged on suspicion of murder following the death of UnitedHealthcare CEO, Brian Thompson. At the time of his arrest, Luigi Mangione was reportedly found in possession of a three-page, handwritten “manifesto”.
Brian Thompson was killed in New York last week, whilst on his way to an insurance conference. Mangione was arrested in a McDonald’s, after a member of staff believed they recognised him and called police. As well as the manifesto, Mangione was said to be found with a fake ID, and a gun. He has been charged with murder, as well as three gun charges and forgery. Luigi Mangione has since been denied bail.
Joseph Kenny, the chief of detectives at the New York City Police Department, said in a press conference that in the manifesto, the writer appeared to express “ill will toward corporate America.”
What we know about the manifesto reportedly found on Luigi Mangione
According to New York Times, the manifesto found on Luigi Mangione was 262-words, and handwritten. It has been claimed the note begins with the writer appearing to take responsibility for the murder, according to a senior law enforcement official who saw the document.
“To save you a lengthy investigation, I state plainly that I wasn’t working with anyone,” the note wrote. It condemns companies for prioritising profit over care. It said they “continue to abuse our country for immense profit because the American public has allowed them to get away with it.”

The manifesto also reportedly mentioned UnitedHealthcare by name, and noted the size of the company and how much money it makes. “These parasites had it coming,” it is said to have said. “I do apologise for any strife and trauma, but it had to be done.”
NBC News has reported Mangione was initially cooperative with the officers who arrested him, but his approach has changed.“He was initially cooperative,” Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens said at a news conference. “He is not now.”
